Romantic and Charming

My husband and i have been staying at the Rookwood Inn every summer for the past 4 years. This inn is romantic and charming, as well as a comfrotable and friendly palce to stay. Amy and her staff go out of their way to welcome you into the inn. The rooms are nicely decorated and very clean. The public spaces are inviting, especially the lovely porch! We often have to leave early on Monday morning and Amy and Chris go out of the their way to pack a breakfast to go for us! The location is ideal, a short walk into the lovely town of Lenox where you can dine at many nice restaurants. This is a wonderful place to relax and recharge!

Romance Blooms at Rookwood

We love Rookwood Inn and Amy its Innkeeper. It is warm, cozy and invites couples to snuggle together rekindling romance. The staff, many of whom have been there for years and years and years, are always helpful - smiling and ready to advice guests where to get the best food; what to do in the area - no matter what the season. Rooms are charming and filled with lovely, romantic antiques. We love the Rookwood.

A special place, a special occasion

With internet selections from distant locations, so much can go terribly wrong. Amy, her staff, and the Rookwood Inn have proven how wonderful things can be. From our home in Texas, Rookwood Inn was selected for a very special occasion, with many details left to Amy. Everything was amazing, and our perfect memories will last a lifetime. We will be back, many times.

Simply the Best

My wife and I have been going to the Rookwood twice a year for over ten years now. We have stayed in many inns in the Berkshires and would not even think of staying at any other but the Rookwood. It is just a warm and at home type feeling when you are there. The staff and service are simply impeccable. The inn itself is decorated beautifully with every room having its own character. It is centrally located to town which is a short walk away. There are a few great restaurants and quaint little shops in town as well. Thanks again Amy see you in the fall, your simply the best.

Remarkable attention & care here!

More than the enchantment of the "Victorian focus" of this bed and breakfast inn, is the remarkable attention and care I received from The Rockwood Inn's staff, including the owner, Amy. I cannot think of another time I have felt so welcome at any lodging! More surprising was that their generosity seemed so effortless, yet was demonstrated in a very personal way. When traveling, no matter how "lovely" the physical accommodations are, I have found that the difference in the experience is always related to how people (the staff) interact with you. In my humble opinion, the special people at The Rookwood Inn are individuals without peers! With that being said, the Inn was very charming, nestled near the heart of Lenox. For me, it was great to be in walking distance of the central village. I highly recommend The Rookwood Inn.

Perfect Getaway and Perfect Hostess

We found the Rookwood to be everything advertised and more. Attention to decor, details, and hospitality were first class. Even the weather cooperated in March and we were able to sit out on the front porch and enjoy our wine each afternoon. The Rookwood is a huge house yet felt cozy and comfortable. The large living room is decorated with several seating areas so many people can enjoy it. We were there on a weekend when it wasn't busy so Amy, the proprietor, graciously took the time to show us the other rooms. One is better than the other and it would be difficult to say which is the most beautiful. We were in the Williams Suite on the first floor and happily it looks exactly as pictured on the website and was very comfortable.. However, because of my rememberance of Rapunzel, the next time we stay I will definitely want to stay in Revels Retreat which has the circular sitting room. So romantic. Service was also exceptional. There is a guest refrigerator stocked with complimentary drinks and a table set up with glasses and wine openers. And the location is perfect. You can park your car and walk into the charming little town of Lenox. Thank you, Amy, for a wonderful getaway.

The Rookwood Inn - A Victorian Roma

We stayed at The Rookwood Inn to celebrate New Year's Eve, 2009. The Rookwood has special meaning to us, because it's the first hotel my wife and I stayed in when we met 12 years ago. One thing has remained constant at The Rookwood throughout that time - Innkeeper Amy Lindner-Lesser. She continues to make her guests feel like her home is their home, and for those of us who return regularly, she welcomes us like family. Each of the rooms is decorated with lovely period furnishings, and every one is different - so there's something for every taste - and budget. Our room had a fireplace that we watched from our cozy four-poster bed with a hand-made quilt comforter. And speaking of taste - Amy and her staff cook breakfasts that are always different, fresh, and delicious. They outdid themselves on New Year's Day, producing a sumptuous buffet fit for a 4-star restaurant brunch - outstanding! If you're looking for a weekend getaway, or a place to stay while enjoying Tanglewood or the other many attractions of the Berkshires (including a great convenient Prime Outlets location just minutes from the Rookwood and just off the Mass Pike) the Rookwood is for you. Lenox is a delightful village with lots of nice restaurants, shops, and a great bookstore, and the Rookwood is one block from the center of town - makes for fun walks (or runs, if you prefer) Give the Rookwood a try - you won't be sorry - and we're sure it won't be your last time there.

Comfortably Adorable

Almost all the inns where I've stayed have been either very adorable, but somewhat lacking in amenities, or have had so many modern conveniences that they felt inauthentic. The Rookwood Inn is somehow able to strike a perfect balance between both. All the common areas are filled with cute furniture and decorations, but not cluttered. There's also a refrigerator and microwave for guests to use if they have leftovers from one of the restaurants in town. Our bedroom was gorgeous - somehow both cozy and spacious at the same time. And the bathroom was perhaps the nicest one I've seen in any B&B: enormous, with a pedestal sink and clawfoot tub, and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was delicious both mornings - a strata one day, and Belgian waffles the next. They even ask you to sign up for one of three breakfast times the night before, in order to make sure they have the right amount of hot food for everyone. The innkeepers really seem have thought of everything their guests could want ahead of time. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone.

Would Not Stay Anywhere Else

My husband and I have stayed at The Rookwood for many summers now when we travel to The Berkshires to enjoy the music/theater and art and dance offerings. This Fall however we booked three rooms and met our children there for the Thanksgiving holiday. As always the hospitality and the facilities were beautiful, comfortable and a pleasure just to 'sit around and relax' in.It felt like we were home away from home.Five year old Charlotte decided she wasn;t going to leave but rather would stay forever in her fairy princess castle. We would not ever even consider staying anywhere else.Convenient as well as absolutely beautiful. We cannot say enough about Amy and her staff....they are perfect hosts that know just how to make our stay perfect! We will be back next summer and the children have decreed that this is a Thanksgiving Tradition for the Byrne family!

One of the Best Trips Ever Taken

The service at the Rookwood Inn was absolutely incredible! Amy & her staff were so accommodating in every way...Amy provided a delicious gluten-free breakfast for me daily and even packed one to go when we had to fast and leave early for lab work! She had great information on restaurants including menu's, locations, & phone numbers! Our beautiful victorian bedroom was a dream to come home to every day! The atmosphere was one of beauty, warmth, comfort, relaxation, and security to name just a few... The location was fantastic...we walked everywhere except when having lunch at the Kripalu Center. There was a nice pharmacy just 1/2 block away with select groceries! Everyday there were two bottles of water in the room. We loved the entire experience at the Rookwood including Amy's warmth and sincere desire to accomodate us! What a beautiful memory...We definitely want to return and will of course stay at the Rookwood Inn! Highly Recommended! Karla D.

Tranquil Haven in the Berkshires

What a delightful welcoming place. As we arrived and walked up onto the front porch, with its comfortable wicker furniture, we knew we'd found a home away from home. Amy the innkeeper greeted us warmly and showed us to our room. It was spacious, with a woodburning fireplace and cozy love seat, and had every amenity we could need. The inn is large and rambling, with plenty of cozy nooks and places to sit and relax with a good book or for conversation with friends. The innkeepers thoughtfully provide a large guest refrigerator, and a good selection of hot and cold beverages are available at all times. Home-made cookies in the afternoon were too tempting to resist. The inn is within walking distance of all the shops and restaurants in downtown Lenox. We'll be back!

Best Inn the Berkshires

My fianceé and I stayed at the Rookwood Inn on the night of our engagement. We have stayed in a lot of places in and around Lenox, and we could not have envisioned a better place to cap off our romantic night. We got there late, and they were very accommodating. The woman at the front desk showed us to our room, which was absolutely exquisite! The bed was huge, very comfortable, and we had all the amenities that one would expect. The fireplace in the room really added to the ambience (though we had no use for it in June). Breakfast the next morning was delicious. The dining area combines excellent food with a great atmosphere— very cozy. The serving sizes were generous and the service was impeccable. We would recommend the Rookwood Inn to anyone spending a few days in the Berkshires, especially Lenox.

By far

Of all the inns I've visited, Rookwood, by far, was the most comfortable, with personable, friendly and obliging innkeepers, excellent breakfasts and cozy atmosphere.

A pleasure as always!

We have been coming to the Rookwood every summer for a number of years. It is a lovely B&B right in the heart of Lenox, and easy walking distance to restaurants, shops, and parks. Tanglewood is a 5-10 minute drive. The inn is the definition of charming, with nicely decorated rooms (all different) and plenty of space indoors and out to sit and chat, read or relax. There is a buffet breakfast in the morning, and much appreciated late afternoon lemonade and cookies. Amy, the owner, and the rest of her staff are always warm and helpful; and we always feel that each year we are returning to see old friends.

a great place to stay

Every aspect of the Rookwood Inn was excellent. The rooms were lovely, the food delicious and the location convenient both for walking to interesting shops and driving to Tanglewood. Amy goes out of her way to accommodate her guests. Her success is obvious from the many people who come back year after year. This was our first visit to Rookwood and we definitely plan to come back.

Luxurious and Welcoming

After a stay in a rustic B&B in Vermont, the Rookwood Inn appeared to us both luxurious and entirely welcoming. Amy, the innkeeper, greeted us as if we were her most valuable guests and was a font of wisdom regarding local and area places in which to eat, swim, and hike. Our room was beautifully coordinated and entirely comfortable with Eastlake antiques predominating. Breakfast was well-prepared, but the secret delight of the place lies in the screened-in side porch where morning coffee and evening drinks can be taken along with the cool Berkshire air. Lennox and its many attraction is just a block away, but the ambience of Rookwoord is rural peacefulness. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.
