Romantic Getaway a hit!

What a wonderful stay we had at The Claiborne House Bed and Breakfast. I highly recommend this B&B if you are traveling the Blue Ridge Parkway in Virginia. We stayed at this B&B for a short weekend spur of the moment getaway on thoroughly enjoyed every minute! The innkeepers were welcoming and gracious toward their guests. They were not intrusive at all, in fact we had total privacy and comfort in our beautiful room (The Blue Ridge Room). The bed was ultra comfy, the linens soft and the pillows perfect. That was probably the most femine room at The Claiborne House but it was romantic not frilly pink and Victorian at all! Walnut antique furniture and lots of windows. My husband loved this room also. We had cable tv, wireless internet and a huge bathroom. There were even fresh flowers in our room and dove chocolates on our pillow! The Claiborne House is within walking distance to three great restaurants and there were two music events going on while we were there. If you love bluegrass this is the place! Shellie the innkeeper even had it piped in while we dined. It was a lot of fun! There was a guest fridge stocked with a variety of complimentary soda and bottled water and even hot cocoa, tea and cider (24 hrs). All of these little touches made it very special! Next time we stay at this B&B we will go to nearby Smith Mountain Lake and go sailing! The inn itself has a lovely front porch and plenty of off-street parking. The parlor is cozy and there is a games closet. So you can easily get caught up in that whole relaxation thing they promote and of course, the romance.
Innside Tip:
"Music nearby"
If you stay at The Claiborne House B&B in Rocky Mount there is always live local music at the corner at Edible Vibes. You can have a desert and coffee or tea and hear some great tunes. There is also The Depot one block away that hosts some well know bluegrass bands. The shows are every other Friday night and last two hours. Shellie keeps a blog that lists events coming up, so I would check it out so you can catch one of these events!
