Sour Cream Almond Coffee Cake

Another famous breakfast item at the Lord Camden Inn. Moist, filling and not too sweet. Just the right thing to start your morning here in Camden, Maine.
One cup margarine, 1 cup sugar, 2 eggs, 1 cup sour cream, 1 teaspoon vanilla, 1 teaspoon almond extract, 2 cups flour, 1 teaspoon baking powder, 1 teaspoon baking soda.
For the topping: 1 cup flour, 1 cup sugar, 1 cup cold margarine cut into small pieces, 1 teaspoon almond extract, 1 cup sliced almonds.
Beat margarine and sugar until fluffy.
Add eggs, sour cream, vanilla, and almond extract.
Beat until well blended. Gradually beat in the dry ingredients on low speed until well blended.
Spread evenly into 2 greased and floured loaf pans. Sprinkle half of topping over each loaf.
Bake at 325 for 40-50 minutes.
Yield: 10-12 servings
Prep Time: 30 minutes
Cook Time: 40-50 minutes
