Peaches N' Cream French Toast
Filed under: Breakfast, Breakfast - French Toast, Romantic Recipes.
![]() Description: This dish is always a favorite of our guests. Although you can prepare this and bake it right away, we prepare it the night before and pop it in the oven the next morning. It's easy to make, smells wonderful and is oh, so tasty! Ingredients: 3 eggs 1/2 cup half and half Dash of vanilla Cream cheese French bread Canned peaches (sliced or halves) 3 tbsp. butter 1/4 cup brown sugar 1/4 cup maple syrup Cinnamon Powdered sugar 9" baking dish This recipe is for two servings, but it is very easy to expand. We NEVER use measuring devices when we prepare this, so the above ingredients are approximate. You really can't mess this up, however you do it, so have fun and enjoy! Directions: Combine and mix eggs, half & half, vanilla in a large mixing bowl and set aside. In baking dish, melt butter then add brown sugar and syrup. Spread mixture around the bottom of the baking dish and set aside. Cut four slices of French bread (we cut them on an angle to make larger portions), each about 1" thick. This will make two "sandwiches". Spread a liberal amount of cream cheese on the inside of the sandwiches. Slice enough peaches to fill the two sandwiches and put them together. Soak the sandwiches in the egg mixture and place in the pan. Pour remaining egg mixture around the sandwiches. OPTIONAL: We usually pour some of the syrup from the canned peaches into the dish. For 2 servings, probably 1/4 of the syrup. Sprinkle with cinnamon. Tent with aluminum foil and refrigerate overnight (or you may go ahead and bake it). Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Bake covered for 30 minutes. Uncover and bake 15 minutes. Sift powdered sugar on top and serve immediately with hot syrup. ![]() Recipe Summary: Yield: 2 Prep Time: 15 minutes Cook Time: 45 minutes Comments: ![]() ![]() |
