Maine Morning Granola

Description:
A favorite of our guests.

Ingredients:
5 c. rolled oats
1 c. walnuts or pecans
1/2 c. packed brown sugar
1.5 t. cinnamon
1/2 t. nutmeg
1 c. melted butter
1/3 c, maple syrup
1/2 c. golden raisins

Directions:
1.In large bowl stir together oats, nuts, brown sugar,spices. Mix maple syrup into the melted butter,heat gently.

2. Mix oats and nuts in big bowl. Pour melted butter and syrup over all and mix well. Spread mix into buttered 10 x 15 inch baking pan.

3.Bake 350 degrees until golden brown, about 30 minutes, may take alittle longer depending on the pan you use. Set your timer for every 10 minutes so you can stir the granola for even browning.

4.Let cool in pan. When completely cool stir in raisins.Can be stored in airtight container up to one month.It also freezes well.

5.You can substitute any nuts or other dried fruits you like.
