October 25. We stayed here for 3 days after our wedding themed ("A Christ Centered Covenant" after a yearlong "Cross-Continental Courtship") + loved relaxing in the lovely honeymoon suite (especially loved the heart shaped jacuzzi). Jennifer was an amazing hostess + tour guide + miracle worker + served us sccrumptious breakfasts each morning. We would love to come again for a future anniversary! The fabulous restoration of the Power's Mansion has allowed a most memorable night for a couple anticipating their golden wedding anniversary in a few months. Though we may never live in a mansion, they have figured heavenly in our married life. We first lived near the Bedwell Mansion as newleyweds in Chico, CA. One of our sons was born in Auburn in the old Highland Hospital now restored at the Lubeck Mansion off Marrin Way. Thank you, Alfred! Sally & Roger

January 14. Now here we are staying in the honeymoon suite as a breif (and a bit delayed) honeymoon weekend. We could not have asked for more romantic setting. We loved this jacuuzi tub, the candles in the fireplace, and all the little extas placed about with such care. We are grateful for the staff of the mansion for treating us like royalty. November 11 Our very special day! We were married in the courtyard in front of the waterfall. Our four children joined us at the alter as we were married by our good friend Mike. Our children joined us in blending different colored sands into one vessel, signifying the unity of our two families.

My new wife Robin and I were married yesturday and have began our new life together. Staying here has been wonderful! The scenery, people, room, food and decorations have all made this great but...my girl made all the difference. Today we were married here at the Inn. It was the happiest day of our lives. What a long strange trip it's been. Together as husband and wife after falling in love and parting ways almost thirty years ago. We reunited in spite of 207 miles of I-5 and a very long list of other challenges. We both have been through so much all the years we were apart. The pathes we took were so different & yet fate brought us back togehter. Once reunited, the road was still filled with some pot holes and bumps. Although our story has been anything but what one might expect to read in a fairytale, the love we share is deep, true and eternal. Once we finally saw the smooth pavement ahead, the Powers Mansion was there and that's when things started to fall into place. Many thanks to Alfred and Mary, all those that brought us together and made this time in our lives so special, happy and memorable. Now we are on a new journey together. June 10 Our evening was great, perfect weather outside & the town was nice. Although we were not married yet physically, our spirits have been for some time now. September 17 Yesterday my love Mark and I got married at my Mom's house in Meadow Vista. We worked months on the property and planning and the day was fabulous. May 9th I just married my very best friend two days ago and I am absolutely the LUCKIEST man in the world. May 7th We're back to visit my folks in Roseville for Mother's Day and to attempt the Pacific Crest Trail (again)at Donner Lake--believe it or not we actually got much farther on the trail back in November! The snow & ice was harder then. Right now (May) the drifts are still 7 feet and the pack is soft and melting. So we spent the weekend going thru the ecclectic galleries about town and had a great dinner. Looking forward to returning again in July perhaps to get on to Mt. Judah! All the best, Rob & Sally

We're not newlyweds yet! We're here for our 33rd anniversary. It went fast but it's just getting better. Lots of moves and lots of houses and now settled in the Sierra Mountains outside Lake Tahoe...a long way from our meeting point at the "Rubber Duck college hangout in 1969". Two grown children (ours, not us!) and we're ready to start being college kids again. I hope all who read this hang in there through good and bad. The hard work in life & marriage is worth it. Hello! Well we just had a great breakfast prepared by Peggy and Alfred. The eggs benedict and the breakfast biscuts were great. We are not newlyweds, in fact we are in our mid-thirtys and have been married for seventeen years. We did however, need a little time away. The last time that we stayed here was on our twelve year anniversary. The trials and tribulations of life are at times complex and can be difficult. The upside is through work and determination you can overcome anything. Time away, in this case we believe, was well deserved and needed. Thank you for a nice stay with you! Despite the gray wet weather of the day, we were met upon arrival with a warm cheery smile from the innkeeper, who immediately made us feel as if we were the owners who had just returned home. Our time at the Power’s Mansion was much too short, but during that short stay we felt as we stepped back into the days when a man’s fortune could be made in the gold mines and there by allow the building and furnishing of such a place as the Powers Mansion. Our room was furnished with a large four poster bed which was made up using rich linens, heavy lace curtains hung at the bay windows allowing one a fabulous view into Old Auburn. A claw foot tub/shower beckoned to me and soothed the tired aching muscles from an all-day drive. Despite the feeling of yester-year, the presence of today was present with all the modern convenience of in room bath, phone, and dish TV. All of this lending themself to making you feel as rich as any gold mine owner! The beautiful groomed property speaks to you of romance with its waterfalls and fountains and gazebo. Breakfast consisted of thick perfectly prepared bacon and fat juicy sausage, inch thick quiche, served with muffin and a bowl of mixed seasonal fruit served with choice of tea, coffee, and juice. A return visit/stay most definitely for this traveler! Linda Albrecht
