“Wonderful Visit 9/12/11”
Barbara SOrlando, FL
While attending a Class Reunion in Albany we decided to spend some vacation time. We found this jewel on the internet. What a Find. Our stay was absolutely fabulous. Barbara, our gracious, host was a delight! The inn is charming, the food fantastic. The rooms are decorated tastefully. We didn't want for anything. Barbara made us feel like we were visiting a dear friend. Although we live in Florida we look forward to returning. Thank you, Barbara

“Distinctive B&B exceeding expectati”
Slade EBrick, NJ
My wife and I stayed at the Pine Bush House B&B for 3 nights over Labor Day weekend. We have never visited a bed and breakfast before, but this certainly exceeded any and all expectations! Barbara and Mark are wonderful hosts and offer a wealth of knowledge of the local area. They do everything possible to ensure a pleasant stay. Barbara's breakfasts and afternoon snacks are simply amazing! The house itself is charming, quaint, and very clean. It has a classic Victorian decor but has all the modern amenities to meet all your needs. The coffee bar is fantastic. We spent most of our time visit area wineries but when we had some free time at the house we really enjoyed relaxing on the front porch in the evenings. In colder months, I would have definitely made use of the cozy library room or sitting room. Our room (the Zinfandel Room) was great. We had plenty of room during our 3 night stay. We loved the Apple movies (essentially, a large selection of on-demand movies, which are free). The in-room Keurig and wine chiller were very nice touches as well, although we didn't use them. The bathroom was very nice, with a great multi-head shower system and steam bath, both of which we did use and really enjoyed. The Zinfandel Room faces the road, but we did not hear any noise at all and had a very pleasant sleep. The bed was firm and very comfortable. For anyone who needs a little background noise for sleeping, the room does have a "white noise" machine (we did not use that either). And for ambiance, there is an in-room electric fireplace.
The house was very easy to find and seemed to be centrally located for anyone interested in visiting the Hudson Valley Wine Trail. However, it was Barbara and Mark who really make this place. They are superb hosts and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this B&B to anyone looking to stay in this area.

“Very nice”
L PThis bed and breakfast is lovely. Especially loved the purple living room and the amazing cookies and chocolates they had out in the afternoon! The rooms are cozy and the beds are made up beautifully and very comfortable. The owner is very chatty and friendly. Although I would recommend and would come back, did not really love the breakfast of pecan french toast and bacon.

“Perfect Little Getaway”
Jen CNew York, NY
Loved everything about this inn. Every little detail in the house from the moment you walk to the porch steps, to the cozy foyer, the fireplace and the impeccable dining room is memorable. Would definitely stay here longer next time. Barbara (the owner) is such a hospitable sweetheart and made us feel right at home. Information on the town was provided for us which was great and breakfast the following morning was delicious.
Highly recommend as a retreat away from NYC :)

“Pine Bush Exceeds Expectations”
Nicole P2/13/2011
Charming and immaculate, Pine Bush Inn is a delightful getaway for folks who can't be bothered with a concierge but who like the intimacy of a bed and breakfast atmosphere. Only an hour and a half from Hoboken/New York City, Pine Bush Inn is nestled off of winding roads and sprawling acres of beautiful foliage. A "home away from home," I cannot say enough about the welcoming warmth of the couple who run this little gem of a place.

“Love this Charming B&B”
Glenda CKernersville, NC
11/23/2010
What a wonderful and charming B&B. I would recommend to anyone wanting a get-a-way. I was fortunate enough to stay at the B&B just as they had just decorated for Christmas which only added to the charm of the B&B. One of the most wonderful features is it's location. With a train ride you are only 2 hours tops from the City and then back to the comfort and solace of the B&B. I loved it and especially loved the hospitality of the Inn Keepers Barbara and Mark.

“Absolutely Wonderful”
Mike LHood River, OR
10/24/2010
My wife and I stayed here for our 10 year anniversary. Very romantic! Absolutely loved it! Had a warm greeting from Mark when we arrived. He made us feel very welcome and gave us a personal tour of the inn. After finding out what we wanted to do in the area and what we liked to eat, he made us a personal map of how to get to the best places. Very helpful! The inn itself is amazing! It's a delightful mix of history with modern (even futuristic) technology. We stayed in the Champagne Suite. The room made you feel like stepping back into the early 1900's with the decor, but it had all the amenities you would expect to have in the MGM Grand Hotel. Among these were: A flat screen tv equipped with apple tv and lots of pre-downloaded movies and music to choose from (at no extra cost); A white noise machine (which we never used as the place is very quiet)Was nice to know it was there if we needed it though; A remote controlled air conditioning system; Then there was the bathroom!!! The toilet (yes the toilet)was amazing. A heated seat with an integrated bidet. Probably TMI (sorry), but never had used a bidet before our visit here and now I want one. What an invention! Then there was the shower! Not just any shower, this was a multi nozzled water sprayer, steam bath, jacuzzi, foot massager, entertainment system (tv,radio,cd player) wonder that looked like it could be a time machine. Even had cool looking lighting effects. Wow! Breakfast in the morning was great! My wife knows the names of the dishes. I just remember they tasted wonderful. Some sort of croissant filled with strawberry filling for starters then an egg fluffy soufflet dish of some sort that made my toes tingle. Bravo! To sum it up, it was probably one of the nicest B&Bs we've stayed in (and we've stayed in around 10-15). I'd recommend it for anyone wanting to enjoy a first rate B&B experience while exploring this beautiful area.

“Better than ”
V R8/24/2010
How do I love this place, let me count the ways...I mean really! This is truly the best place I have ever stayed and I have been staying at B&B's for over 25 years! This was the cleanest B&B, with the most comfortable bed ever! The room was beautiful and so were the hosts, Mark and Barbara! Barbara becomes your BFF immediately and you can talk to her about anything, "like we grew up together!" And the breakfasts were just over the top! Beautiful to behold and wonderful to eat! Would I stay here again? The question is, "WHEN will I stay here again!" Better than a home away from home! I loved it!

“Fantastic find!!!”
Jeanne M7/6/2010
Barbara and Mark are the consummate hosts, and they clearly enjoy what they do! They are helpful, warm, and accommodating without being intrusive. Mark printed us detailed maps to the local hikes, and we even heard him offer to drive a car-less couple to a local attraction. Breakfast was decadent (Barbara's scones and pastries are 5-star), but if you are health-conscious, they can also accommodate that. The fresh cookies every day and the unlimited and fantastic tea and coffee were great perks. This B&B has the right balance between modernity (free Internet, free movies on Apple TV, espresso machine, wine cooler in your room) and rusticity (cozy four-poster bed, welcoming old-school library, candle-lit front porch). We will definitely be back!

“Best B&B I've ever stayed in!!”
Robert CTrophy Club, TX
6/25/2010
We stayed at the Pine Bush house as part of a visit to the West Point, NY area on vacation and made a reservation at the Pine Bush House online because of the relative location to West Point. To say I was surprised was an understatement!
We stayed in the Champagne Suite and I have never seen anything like it before in my life! It had an extremely advanced Jacuzzi / Steam shower, a toilet with a seat warmer and water cleaning feature (like Japan), an excellent TV with Apple TV "Movies on Demand" and a very comfortable bed. The room had amenities that you would have to spend thousands of dollars for in New York City.
Barbara and Mark were extremely warm and friendly. When we arrived, Barbara gave us a full house tour, baked us fresh chocolate chip cookies (Awesome!) and gave us excellent recommendations on what to do and where to eat in the area. Later that evening, Mark came out and had candles lit on the front porch while we sat outside and drank some of the local wine.
In the morning, Barbara prepared us an excellent breakfast. It consisted of a starter of fresh green apples and almonds with a light honey drizzle and then a delicious frittata. The selection of coffee and tea was excellent and was available to us at any time. They have an advanced Keurig type system for coffee at "off-hours".
Anyway, I'm a guy and I'm not usually as high on B&B's as my wife is, but we both agree that this was the best experience that we have ever had and that we will DEFINITELY return as long as Barbara and Mark are still the owners. The only tiny knock I can make is that it's a little bit away from the highway (10 miles from RT 17). That said, that's what you want when you truly want to get away from it all.

InnSide Tip - Check out the local wine trail.
The area around Pine Bush, NY has a very nice wine trail which is rather unexpected. The local wine is quite good an very reasonably priced. Get a bottle and enjoy the front porch of the Pine Bush House like we did!

“Fantastic Bed & Breakfast Getaway”
kate b6/1/2010
Pine Bush House was a wonderful experience. It's the perfect getaway from NYC-roughly an hour-and-a half drive in the heart of Hudson Valley Wine country. Our hosts were incredibly gracious and the house was absolutely beautiful. With only 4 rooms it is intimate and cozy but includes all the modern amenities one could want. To call the food breakfast would be like calling the Mona Lisa a nice doodle, as it was spectacular and left all the remaining meals in the day lacking. Close to the main street and a great homemade ice cream stop as well as great hiking and horse-back riding (and the aforementioned vineyards), there is plenty to do to keep you occupied for a nice long weekend. Afternoon homemade cookies and candle-light lanterns on the porch at night are just of the few extra touches that made our long weekend wonderful. Be sure to try and get the Champagne suite which features a 3-person jacuzzi tub that looks like part of the space shuttle. We would definitely go again and wish Mark and Barbara a long and prosperous run with their fabulous B&B!

This was one of most relaxing weekends I've had in a long time. I came up for my niece's college graduation & even though I was 40 minutes outside of New Paltz, it was worth the ride to stay here. Barbara & Mark did everything to make you feel comfortable; from friendly chats on the porch to fresh made cookies to sumptuous breakfasts. The room was comfortable with all the amenities and then some.

Just returned from a visit with Mark and Barbara at their beautiful 1904 Victorian home. Wow. It's a fantastically decorated and wonderfully warm and cozy house. Our hosts were extremely friendly and accomodating. From the home-made cookies to the candle-lit lanterns...and the blankets left outside on the porch to keep us warm in the cool Autumn air....I really don't think they could have thought of anything more to impress us. When I return to the area, I wouldn't even consider another B&B. This is where I'll stay!

My husband and I have stayed at many B & B’s with all with different pros and cons. We both agreed Pine Bush House Bed and Breakfast has ranked # 1. Barbara and Mark make you feel like you are visiting family or long time friends. When you are their, you feel right at home except the breakfast is nothing like home.
