Circa 1820. This romantic country getaway on 300 acres offers heart-shaped personal Jacuzzis for two, antique appointed rooms, gourmet hot chocolate served fireside, candlelight breakfasts and room amenities such as a wood-burning fireplace or brass bed. Bright colors and original walnut woodwork add to the decor in this 1820s brick farmhouse, once a stagecoach stop. As the name might suggest, the inn has a collection of penguins on display. In the evenings, guests enjoy moon-lit walks along the old country lane and in the daytime, exploring the inn's farmland, watching the kittens playing in the barn, or cycling to downtown Circleville, four miles away. Breakfasts include a selection of natural foods, and the innkeeper is happy to cater to special dietary needs.
