Serenaded by Frogs, Beautiful Farmstead

We have long wanted to visit the Texas Hill Country - and couldn't have asked for a better place to stay! We especially enjoyed being serenaded by the frogs & insects all night long - even turned off the air conditioner and opened the windows on a warm night to enjoy them. With wonderful food and wildlife, and the goats and their kids, and the cats, and the stars - what else could you ask for? Thank you for preserving this beautiful farmstead - and for sharing it with others.

Couldn't Have Asked For Anything More - Donkeys and Gingerbread Men

We both just fell in love with this B&B the minute we walked into The Log Cabin. I personally loved all the special touches. The gingerbread men cookies were too cute and delicious. I wanted to eat every last one and not share. The place is decorated beautifully and made us feel right at home. We were looking for a peaceful get-a-way to help us rejuvenate and reflect as we just celebrated our 13th year anniversary. We couldn't have asked for anything more. Palo Alto Creek Farm provided just that. We enjoyed our morning strolls around the property, petting the donkeys, and listening to nature on the covered porches. Thank you for the delicious breakfasts and providing such a great experience. We hope to return soon!

Returned and Brought Friends

We have returned to Palo Alto Creek Farm, but this time we brought some friends with us! Last time, on our anniversary, we stayed in The Barn and had the farm all to ourselves. This time we're in The Itz House, and all the houses are occupied. We have all enjoyed the stay and have enjoyed reading your books - especially the "Sears Catalog" dated "1902". Our first night we sat outside to view the sunset, sipped "Grape Creek" wine, and enjoyed the beautiful cool weather. Second night - went to Luckenbach, TX. Loved it! - especially the motorcycle rally and the Volkswagens. Ate dinner at Crossroads and listened to "Elvis T Busboy & the Blue Butchers" - Great Band! Another relaxing & wonderful evening. Thank you for all of your work in maintaining this farm.

Not One Detail Missed

This is our 5th time out to Palo Alto and it is still as awesome as the first visit 10 years ago. There is not one detail Izard out here and we leave each time with a sense of peace and tranquility. We love Scooter the cat (black & white) and his friend Stripes as the welcome committee. I always look for the gingerbread cookies. Lupe makes the best breakfast foods ever, with my favorite being the breakfast tacos and Mexican quiche and my husband's being the spinach quiche. We had the pleasure of meeting Carter & Ellis, the owners, and enjoyed chatting with them. Don't forget the donkeys in the back, they love apples. We also booked the couples massage package through European Day Spa and they were wonderful. I could go on and on - but it's time to check out. We look forward to our next visit! Thanks Palo Alto owners & staff for making this place so great!

Weekend of Perfection

My husband and I celebrated our 1-year wedding anniversary here this weekend. What a truly wonderful and special place we picked! From the kitties running to greet us as soon as we parked, to the wonderfully romantic fireplaces, to the complete and utter peace I felt sitting on the backporch rocking chair listening to the wind dance through the trees, to the wonderful food prepared for us in the fridge, Palo Alto Creek Farm was a weekend of perfection! I cannot wait until we are able to return! Thanks for an amazing experience!

Perfect Getaway

Our little "getaway" before Christmas was just perfect! We enjoyed the breakfast on the sleeping porch and movies by the fire. Listening to the rain on the sleeping porch was wonderful. The girls in our group enjoyed shopping in town while the guys visited the Pacific War Museum. The little gingerbread cookies - very tasty! I loved heating water up in the copper kettle on the "old timey" stove and watching the steam shoot out the spout. (silly I know!). The hot chocolate tasted extra good here! We visited the donkey group several times, taking apples for a snack. We did spt the turkeys coming down the fence line to the feeder...what a sight! Tons of deer, too! We absolutely loved our stay! Thank you for all the special touches.

Another Wonderful Visit

Another wonderful visit to Palo Alto Creek Farm. Our lives are so busy at home, but easy to forget when we step through these doors. Our welcoming committee of the guard cats and the grazing goats and donkeys. We've thought of this beautiful place over the years as our home away from home. Thesimplicity of it all, the small town, the friendliness of everyone makes us yearn for this simpler live. It's always nice to catch up with Lupe. We go way back knowing her, she's a treasure, and we love it when Carter is here and getting to hear about her family and new things going on at the farm. I look through these journals and feel the presence of many couples. That reminds me how much alike we all really are - we just want happiness, love, and some peace in this beautiful spot that has been so lovingly created for us all.

Romantic and Peaceful

We like many others that have journaled their experience here at Palo Alto Creek Farm were celebrating our 28th anniversary! What a beautifully romantic and peaceful place to do so. I loved every aspect of it and we are so thankful for the beautiful weather that helped us enjoy our stay even more. I love the back porch and especially the wind chime and the goats. We also took advantage of the Rockbox Theater and were not disappointed. We will recommend this place to our friends and families. Thank you so much for your kind hospitality!

Our First Choice

Here for the 4th (or 5th) year in a row to celebrate our mother's birthday. This year was a milestone - her 80th! She had the choice to go anywhere she wanted, and this again was her choice (and ours). We were not disappointed and as usual loved our time spent here. Thanks again and see you next year.

The Bar Has Been Set

We couldn't have asked for anything more to celebrate our 1st anniversary. The bar has definitely been set ... High! From the momebnt we pulled in, we know this place was special. The bed is something we didn't want to leave, the tub was incredibly relaxing as well. Everything in The Barn was very cozy and welcoming, too! Scooter was the perfect greeter upon our arrival and always waiting upon our return. I found so much joy watching the goats and hearing their bells when they came running for feeding time. The best part, by far, was sitting in the swing awaiting the deer feeder and watching them come in like clockwork to feed - so relaxing and peaceful. Thank you for allowing us to visit and enjoy this little slice of heaven. We are already looking forward to ouir return!

Slice of Heaven

We spent our 9th anniversary at The Barn at Palo Alto Creek Farm. It's such a special place to escape our chaotic life and regroup. There is not one detail of our stay that we would change! We love the kitties, the breakfast tacos, the private porch, the beautiful grounds, the decor, the jacuzzi for two ... We hate to leave and WILL return. Thank you for sharing this slice of Heaven!

Amazing and Special

Hello, We only stayed for one night, but this place is amazing and special. Made even more stunning by the gorgeous scenery and last night's dramatic thunderstorm. The little gingerbread men and tasty breakfast were great as were all the other quirky little attention to details around The Barn. We took as many photos inside as we did out. With a visit to Luckenbach to meet some incredible musicians, this has been a perfect end to our travels around Texas. Thank you and keep up the good work!
