Circa 1886. Gracing the historic Old Eau Gallie section of Melbourne, Florida, the recently renovated 1886 William H. Gleason House at Old Pineapple Inn is listed in the National Register. Flowering gardens and large live oaks trees adorned with Spanish moss accent the one-acre grounds. Pass the fountain and brick walkway to the spacious veranda with wicker furnishings, a porch swing and soft breezes from the Indian River. A marble fireplace and 1928 Welte-Mignon baby grand player piano highlight the nostalgic parlor. Accommodations include three guest suites and the two-story, four-bedroom Carter Guest House with a pool. The Isabelle and Carrie suites are adjoining and the Lansing Gleason Suite opens onto the second-floor balcony. Savor breakfast in the dining room at a table set with china, crystal and imported linens under a crystal pineapple chandelier.
