The Mercantile Hotel is not a bad place to stay if you enjoy the hustle and bustle of downtown. If your stay is on the weekend, you will most likely be in the center of whatever local event may be going on downtown. Trouble is, unless you enjoy just hanging out in your room, there really is nowhere else to unwind except out on the street. They kind of have you as a captive audience to the several other shops they own downstairs. One good thing, the rooms are unique and fairly large.
