Historic Interest
Built in 1883 by prominent citizens John and Lizzie McCall. John McCall was the founder of the Ashland Woolen Mill, Ashland Library and Bank of Ashland. McCall served as Mayor of Ashland and in the Oregon State Assembly. Lizzie McCall travelled to Oregon by Ox team and later in life became an outspoken suffragette, known throughout the state. The house itself is outstanding and one of the best-preserved examples of Italianate residential architectural style in Oregon.
