Impeccable furnishings and warm Southern hospitality. It was great to meet Donna, Jeff, Lucy and Chico. Thank you for allowing us to stay in this beautiful home and for making us a delicious breakfast each morning. It was a wonderful visit. You have thought of everything in this B&B.

Everything about Maury Place at Monument is so well done! The sumptuous rooms and common areas from top to bottom are beautiful and incredibly well maintained. The inn keepers are the epitome of helpful and gracious and the architecture is stunning!It's a perfect spot from which to get to know the City of Richmond too!

Every detail has been thought about at the Maury Place. Immaculate rooms, coffee bar and refreshments at your finger tips, delicious breakfast and wonderful conversations with other guests and Donna. A true gem away from home.We plan on returning sooner than later. Judy and Tom

This place is the bomb. We stayed here in the Pathfinder Suite for a couple of days and wanted to stay longer because it was so lovely, but no vacancies...sigh. So we booked for a couple days in the fall and we can't wait. The staff was fantastic, the accommodations were fantastic, breakfasts were fantastic... it was just fantastic. A great place all around.

This is a beautiful old home in outstanding condition, spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated, and run by an extremely friendly and efficient staff. The room was very nice, and the breakfast was delicious. Great location. We've stayed in many B&B's, and this is our favorite so far.

I spent the most glorious time at the Maury Place at Monument Avenue in Richmond, Virginia. We had the Pathfinder room. The king bed was so comfortable. The shower was wonderful. The breakfast was delicious. The house itself was beautiful. I will return.

I started writing this review while in the sitting room of the Fontaine Suite at Maury Place during our stay this past March. As the title states, my wife and I consider this being our second visit in less than 3 months attests to our enjoyment of this wonderful B&B. Everything imaginable for one’s rest and comfort has been considered – the beautifully decorated guest living rooms (yes, there are two); the multitude of books on Virginia and Richmond history and places of interest; the bedroom suite with a fabulously-comfortable bed and CD player with IPod and memory stick inputs and LCD TVs tastefully installed within picture frames; the small book lights placed on the either side of the pillow-top bed; the large shower with a rain water head and the lighted make-up mirror (much appreciated by my wife); the digital bedroom entry key; the high 12 foot ceilings and intriguing room light switches; and the wonderful assortment of complimentary drinks and snacks in the “guest” butler’s pantry. And did I say anything about the wonderful breakfasts? On this stay, we enjoyed eggs with salmon and sinfully delicious French toast. One always leaves the breakfast table saying that they will not need to eat for days, but then there are so many delightful restaurants within walking distance – Can Can Brassiere (wonderful moules frites); Zeus Gallery Café (great art, fantastic meals from a daily-changing chalk board and an extensive wine list – interesting selection of local Virginian labels plus some unique varietals, all reasonably priced) and if you go to the VMFA (currently exhibiting +170 works of Picasso), do enjoy the lovely view and great food & service at Amuse (make reservations in advance during special exhibitions). And did I say anything about our wonderful hosts! Jeff and Mac have done incredible things to this great building and then opening it up for all of us to enjoy as guests. Assisting them to assure the highest level of personal service and attention are Donna and Chris, with Mackenzie and Herb making sure the garden and pool appear their best and that everything works smoothly around this “big ‘ol (beautiful) house”! And for those with animals at home – just in case they need a “pet fix” – there is Lucy and Chico the dogs! We will be back – looking forward to our 3rd stay!

The Maury Place at Monument is the best B&B we have ever visited in North America and we have stayed in many. Jeff Wells was a gracious host who totally restored this beautiful private home to a high standard of excellence. We could not have been more pleased with our experience.

Maury Place at Monument was the most delightful experience. This stunning B&B will be one of the highlights of my trip. What a magnificent place, perfectly decorated, terribly grand but immensely comfortable. My room was private and quiet with a balcony, views of the garden and pool and a private bath that easily rivals the most luxurious grand hotels of the world. Breakfast was superb. Jeff and Mac have created a masterpiece. You will not be disappointed.

We stayed the weekend at Maury's Place for my father's 70th birthday. We rented out the whole Inn. It is so lovely. Great location! You can walk to shops and restaurants. Clean rooms with charming furniture, flat screen TV,s, some with a fireplace.

My wife and I stayed at Maury Place for our Wedding Night, and returned for our 1st Wedding Anniversary as a gift to each other. The inn is beautifully restored - classic without the kitsch. The in-room amenities are enough to make you not want to leave: gas fireplace, comfortable sitting areas, heated bathroom tiles, rain shower/massage shower heads, etc. Jeff and Mac are great innkeepers - accommodating, welcoming and discrete. Their breakfasts are the perfect beginning to a day of adventure in Richmond, or the end to an enjoyable weekend stay. When visiting Richmond, VA for any reason whatsoever, consider Maury Place at the top of your list for first-class accommodations. We certainly will for years to come. Cheers!
