Matanuska Room

Matanuska RoomThe Matanuska Room has a very romantic ambience. The King size bed with customized bed coverings and colorful pillows adds a European flair. The furniture and accessories are finely placed and very comfortable. There is a fireplace that separates the bedroom from the bath. There is a large walk in shower. The Jacuzzi is positioned so you can enjoy the beauty of the mountains. Soft mood lighting as well as ample book light is available for your comfort on your Alaska luxury vacation.

Glacier Room

The Glacier room is just that – your view of the glacier. When you wake in the morning the mountains look as if they are sitting at the foot of your bed. How romantic to sit on the deck outside your room and enjoy your morning coffee. Too chilly? Well, we will crank up the deck heater for your personal comfort. Don’t forget the black out drapes; they provide warmth in the winter and keep the room dark in the summer for a restful sleep in our Alaska bed and breakfast.

We recently had the pleasure of staying at the Matanuska Lodge about 76 miles north of Anchorage, Alaska. I am all about charm, clean, beauty and relaxation and this Lodge had it all. It is the “PERFECT” relaxing getaway!! The drive up is gorgeous, the views at the lodge are spectacular. The staff is so friendly you feel very comfortable. It is an absolutely wonderful place to go. I would recommend this lodge as a must see in Alaska. If you are lucky enough to live in Alaska I would visit often!!

We traveled to Alaska for a cruise and decided to extend our trip on land for several more days. My husband and I enjoy B and B's and this lodge seemed to fit the bill. Little did we know that it would be like traveling to our dearest friend's home. Brenda, our innkeeper and owner, was like a long lost relative. She spoiled us from the moment we walked in the door. She even sent us travel information before we left home! The food is second to none and not only did we have breakfast fit for kings, we also had appetizers and dinner each night. Glaciers were our front view and mountains were our back view. Leaving here was difficult to do and we hope to return again in the near future. I can't think of a more romantic setting than the Matanuska Lodge and our newest friend, Brenda. Thanks for some wonderful memories of a truly magnificent vacation to the great state of Alaska.

When I travel for pleasure I love beautiful surroundings, great food and to be pampered. This location provided all those things. The house itself is beautiful and situated in a great out of the way location. Homey touches include luxury bath products and the most comfortable beds. Views of the glacier and the surrounding countryside are spectacular from any vantage point in the lodge. The peaceful setting allowed me to get totally relaxed, something that is nearly impossible in my everyday life. Meals are EXCELLENT. Gourmet cooking meets homestyle comfort at this lodge. Even though there were many activities to choose from, rest was my goal. I certainly achieved that here.
