Circa 1906. See much of Maine from Maple Hill Farm Bed & Breakfast Inn and Conference Center in the four-season location of Hallowell, near Augusta. This award-winning, eco-friendly B&B spans 130 acres of wildflower fields, pastures, woods, a pond and more than 800 neighboring acres of public land. Ask for a trail map to hike, walk, run, snowshoe or cross-country ski. Relax on a hammock or chair in the shade of a maple tree or on the front porch. Sit by the fire in the living room, sip a locally brewed beer in the full-service bar and use the well-equipped guest kitchen. This renovated Victorian house boasts guest rooms that may include a double whirlpool tub, fireplace and secluded deck. A custom country breakfast uses fresh eggs from the farm. Maple Hill is a certified environmental leader with comprehensive renewable energy systems and daily green practices.

Romantic Interest

Some rooms have huge double whirlpool tubs, fireplaces, and private secluded decks. Located in a serene country setting with acres of rolling fields and woods. Ideal for strolling the grounds and trails on the property and adjoining wildlife management area, or enjoying the night stars. Outdoor hot tub open to the stars and in a private fenced-in area, and sauna available, with luxurious robes in every room.

What's Green About Your Inn

We are Maine's first certified "Environmental Leader" green lodging, and recognized by Yankee Magazine as the "Best Green B&B" in New England (2011). We feature a wind turbine on top of our hill, a very large array of solar electric and hot water panels, and all high-quality LED lighting throughout the Inn. We use only green-certified cleaning products, dispensers for some amenities in the showers, locally-made bar soaps, and even use pens made from sustainable bamboo! Maple Hill Farm is truly a "deep green" establishment.

A relaxing retreat with great hospitality

My wife and l have enjoyed the farm many times during the past few years while visiting our child at school in the area. You will enjoy a delicious breakfast each morning and proximity to great restaurants nearby for dinner. A post-dinner nightcap can be enjoyed in the farmhouse's living room before retiring for the evening. We simply don't look anywhere else when visiting. You will be happy with your stay.

My ratings for this property
BOTTOM LINE: I would stay here again.
