About Our Rooms
The Northwoods Suite
The Northwoods Suite is decorated with logs and stone that would remind you of a cabin up north. Logs cover one wall in the sitting room and one wall in the bedroom. In the bedroom, a oversized cannonball headboard dominates the bed.

Innkeeper Note
Circa 1920. Co-owners of the Schlitz Brewery built this inn to serve as a polo lodge. Guests will have a hard time believing that some of the guest rooms actually served as stables and a hayloft.
Imagine your own secret hideaway -- the fireplace is blazing, the wine is chilling, the room is bathed in soft, flickering candlelight, the sounds of your favorite music are playing in the background and the one you love has joined you for a magical, enchanted evening.
Guests have their choice of rooms, which all include a double whirlpool with a view of the fireplace. Romantic amenities also include fluffy bath robes, scented bubble bath, Bath products, Raspberry Meltaway Chocolates and, of course, candles.
For an extra charge we will also prepare an "Enchanted Evening Picnic Basket" to be enjoyed in front of the fireplace. You can savor the peace and tranquility of three acres of beautiful country gardens surrounding our lodge.
We also have a large English cottage garden with a gazebo and a lawn checker set for our guests' enjoyment.
Early in his career, Paul Newman stayed at the lodge, and author J.D. Salinger stayed here while writing "Catcher in the Rye."
