Lackawaxen is a virtual paradise for those enjoying nature and points of historical interest. The Roebling Aqueduct is the oldest suspension bridge in the country and forerunner of Roebling's better known work, the Brooklyn Bridge. It was built in 1848 to carry coal barges over the Delaware River but is now open to car traffic. Visit the exhibits on the top walkway and in the tollhouse museum.
