<title>Maine Stay Inn &amp; Cottages at the Melville Walker House</title>
         <link>http://www.iloveinns.com/bed_and_breakfasts/maine/mainestaycottages.htm</link>
<description>In the National Register, this inn is a square-block Italianate contoured in a low hip-roof design. Later additions reflecting the Queen Anne period include a suspended spiral staircase, crystal windows, ornately carved mantels and moldings, bay windows and porches. A sea captain built the handsome cupola that became a favorite spot for making taffy. In the 1920s, the cupola was a place from which to spot offshore rumrunners. Guests enjoy afternoon tea with stories of the Maine Stay's heritage. Two suites and one room in the main building and six of the cottage rooms have working fireplaces.</description>
