Circa 1832. Kendall Tavern is a welcoming farmhouse painted in a cheerful, creamy yellow hue with white trim. The interior is appointed in an elegant New England country style. Each of the parlors has a fireplace. One parlor is a perfect place to curl up with a book, the other has a television and VCR. Breakfasts are creative and plentiful. The morning meal might start off with poached pears topped with a French vanilla yogurt sauce and accompanied by blueberry muffins. From there, guests enjoy a broccoli and mushroom quiche, grilled ham and home fries. Another menu might include baked apples stuffed with cranberries, cream cheese raspberry coffeecake, blueberry pancakes, scrambled eggs and crisp bacon. Whatever the menu, the breakfast is always a perfect start to a day of shopping in outlet stores, hiking, sailing or cross-country skiing, all of which are nearby.
