Circa 1872. The Kelty Estate B&B and Wedding Center is an historic Colonial Revival that is listed in the National Register. Centrally located on one acre in Lafayette, halfway between Portland and Salem in the heart of Oregon wine country, it is an easy drive to explore Mt. Hood or the coast. Sit on the porch swing or a rocker and enjoy the beauty of Yamhill Valley. Antiques and a vintage player piano with rolls highlight the parlor. Gather for local wine with fruit and cheese each afternoon. Stay in a delightful guest room or suite with private bathrooms and pleasing amenities. Savor a three-course breakfast in the morning before touring the Evergreen Aviation Museum, home of Howard Hughes' famous Spruce Goose.

Historic Interest

The proud, white house with green trim was the country home of Paul Kelty, editor of the Oregonian newspaper. It is surrounded by lawns, gardens and two-hundred-year-old native trees. Painstaking restoration has left the interior with a new feeling, while graceful architectural details and selected antiques recall another era.

You may end up without a room!

I purchased a Groupon for a two night stay and three hour limo tour at Kelty Estate in Lafayette, OR on 8/17/12. I made a reservation on their website on 8/17/12 to stay in the Strawberry Suite 1/25/13-1/27/13 for my husband's birthday. I received a phone call from Kelty Estates the week before Christmas (approx 12/20/13) advising me they sold my room to somebody else and I had two options: 1- Keep my dates of 1/25/13-1/27/13 but be put up at a different B&B (they could not give me the name of the “other B&B” nor information regarding what room I would be staying in); 2- Switch the dates of my reservation to any available date of my choice even beyond the expiration of the Groupon. From 12/24/12 through 1/4/13 we emailed back and forth several times finally deciding we would change our reservation to 7/12/13-7/14/13. I emailed them on 6/3/13 to confirm everything with our new reservation was still ok and and they emailed me back and advised they did not have my reservation. [See email thread below - oldest email at the bottom]. Since this was a Groupon I contacted Groupon directly and ended up receiving a full refund after they attempted to contact Kelty Estate to remedy the situation and Kelty did not respond. Thank you Groupon! Thank goodness we live locally in Portland and hadn’t booked plane tickets, rental cars, time off work, etc to use this Groupon because Kelty Estate really dropped the ball. I currently have a pending Better Business Bureau complaint against Kelty Estate to which they have made no response as of 6/9/13..... J****** G****** Wed, Jun 5, 2013 at 9:15 PM To: niccistokes So are you saying when we emailed back in January and you told me you could rebook us for Friday, July 12 to Saturday, July 14 that you did not do so? You told me we could not come and stay Jan 25-27 because you had sold our room to somebody else after I booked 6 months in advance. What kind of B&B do you think you're running? I am extremely disappointed in the service I have received up to this point. How do you intend to remedy your errors regarding our reservations not once but twice now? Do you or do you not have us booked to stay in the Strawberry Suite at Kelty Estate checking in on Friday, July 12 and checking out on Sunday, July 14 doing the limo wine tour on Saturday, July 13? Your last two responses have been: "I have you checking in the 25th" and "I have you taking a tour on the 13th not 25th." What is that supposed to mean? What month are you referring to? Are you saying you have us staying July 25-27 but doing the wine tour on July 13? I would really appreciate a full, clear, and concise answer the next time you respond. Thank you. I have a couple of questions: 1- If we come on 1/25/13-1/27/13 what is the name of the B&B we will be staying in and which room at that B&B would we be staying in? 2-If we choose to switch the dates of our stay please advise what Friday-Sunday weekend stays you have the Strawberry Suite available for through September 2013. 3-I was advised on the phone that, regardless of which option we select (different B&B or different dates), the limo winery tour for 2 will still be included. Best B&B in Willamette Valley

Fabulous place to stay in the Willamette Valley, perfectly situated between Dundee and McMinnville. Accommodations were fantastic. Innkeeper, Nicki is great - she knows the area and is super helpful in providing thoughts and ideas on what to do, where to go, etc. Her breakfasts are scrumptious and very generous servings, late afternoon wine and cheese add to the entire experience. Highly recommend this place and I look forward to returning.
