This Colonial Revival mansion was built for Maxwell Evarts, who was the son of William Evarts, attorney general to Andrew Johnson. It was Maxwell's ties with the Union Pacific Railroad, which led to his familiarity with politicians and business leaders of the time. Teddy Roosevelt reportedly enjoyed the hospitality of the Evarts on a trip to Windsor. The common areas of the inn include a great hall with a massive fireplace, two dining rooms, a sitting parlor and a library.
