Romantic Interest

Personally, I think the MOST romantic thing is the complete privacy you have, and the terraces. It is wonderful to watch the world go by, or sit and have a quiet drink outside, ALONE, in the summer months! Also, you can share meals together, since each suite has a kitchen, you can keep a bottle of wine on hand, there is no need to even get dressed to eat!

First time In New York

The Ivy Terrace was everything it was advertised as. It is close to shopping, restaurants, and within a walk or quick subway ride to theaters and Time Square. The room was clean, neat and had everything one would need for a great stay. For a B and B this had to be one of our favorites and we have stay at a number. I would have not hesitation on returning or recommending it to friends or family. Very reasonably priced for New York.

A great stay in NYC

Everything about our stay was perfect. We stayed in the Zen Room which was like a studio apartment. The room was spacious, spotless, quiet and the bed guaranteed a good nights sleep after a long day and evening in NYC. The en suite shower/tub was clean with little extras were available to ensure comfortable stay. The kitchen was well stocked with quality food including eggs, muffins, juice, yogurt, milk and cereal. There was plenty of coffee and tea. If you wanted something more all you had to do was ask. A special touch was the blueberry brandy. The neighborhood, East Side, was fun with many neat places nearby not to mention public transportation, bus, metro,Uber and taxis were super close and easy to use. Vinessa and Jeff were perfect hosts. They were friendly, knowledgeable and always available to help or advise if needed. They have thought of everything to make a stay memorable. We cannot recommend this lovely B& B highly enough and hope to return soon.

InnSide Tip - Things to do
911 Memorial and museum. Make sure to make a reservation ahead of time. The Hi-Line is a beautiful walk with lots to see. Half price theater tickets are available around 43rd-48th streets. Check on-line. Off-Broadway shows are great. Wonderful little restaurants on the side streets.

Home away from home

We have stayed here three times and it never disappoints. THe rooms are uniquely decorated and more like a studio apartment, with kitchen stocked with breakfast items. The Ivy is within walking distance to Central Park, museums, high end shopping and the subway to go anywhere else in Manhattan. The neighbourhood is safe to walk at night with every kind of restaurant you can imagine. Highly recommended!

Ivy Terrace Deserves a Bouquet

Our previous stays in NY had been in hotels and through home exchange. This time we decided on a B&B for our 10-day stay and chose Ivy Terrace based on past reviews. We had the Rose Room with terrace (freshly flowered), the latter being a delightful and well-appointed accessory though not much used because of our constant comings and goings. What we most appreciated was the attention to detail in bathroom, kitchenette, and throughout. Breakfast came in the form of a well-stocked fridge (including large OJ and fresh cinnamon raisin bread) and repeated offers to replenish. Notwithstanding continuous construction in adjacent streets, our room at the back felt like a quiet oasis. Fan and A/C worked well together to keep us comfortably cool. Hosts were attentive, efficient, endlessly helpful. Much as we'd like to identify a con for the sake of balance, we're hard pressed to do so. Five hearts, five stars, whatever the going symbol, Ivy deserves the max. We mention this reluctantly, as we'd like to avoid a line-up when we inevitably return. But it is our civic duty, and it is the objective truth. David and Darshan, Victoria Canada

Delightful!

We loved the Ivy Terrace. There was great attention to detail and comfort provided by the owner and inn keeper. Our room was spacious, the bed comfortable with a wide selection of pillows to accommodate most any need. The frig was stocked with a variety of breakfast items. We loved the terrace off our room. The bathroom was well lit and had a hair dryer. An iron and small ironing board were in our room--in our spacious closet. But most appreciated were the answers to our many questions: Where to catch a cab; best Irish pub, old New York casual restaurant, hair salon, etc. There was a Whole Foods grocery store a block away as well as a 24 hour pharmacy. We were only a few blocks from Central Park as well as great shopping on Madison Avenue. The only drawback was the street noise but we'd rather deal with that than give up the terrace.

What a Find in NYC!

My husband and I stayed at Ivy Terrace for an event we had to go to in NYC. We didn't want to stay in a typical hotel so we decided to try Ivy Terrace. It was beautiful! It felt like home. The room we stayed in had a kitchen and an outdoor patio which we were not expecting at all! It was just off the main drag of the City, so it was quiet, cozy, and very comfortable. There is a parking garage below, and a few very good options for a bite to eat or a drink just down the street. It truly offers more than a hotel, with an atmosphere of home!
