“Aussie Experience”
Nicole BirrellOur family of 6 stayed with Don and Katherine last September. We absolutely loved the Isiah Jones Homestead and the hospitality offered by Don and Katherine. The breakfast that Katherine prepares each day is out of this world - hot out of the oven cranberry scones is just an example. It is always a challenge with 4 children to find an accommodating B & B but we could not have been made more welcome by this lovely couple.
Highly Recommended!!!

“Great Cape Cod Start!!”
John HillAPO, NY
Our first Cape Cod overnights began with Don and Katherine, and no other place we say during our week in Cape Cod this October could come close!
Restful, quiet, and exceptionally clean is the first impression when you arrive; and then Katherine's fantastic breakfast and Don's banter/jokes/coffee gets your next day started!

“Gracious and convenient”
Catherine O'SheaFlemington, NJ
My husband and I spent two nights here in July 2011. We loved this place! Rooms are charmiong and have antique, but very comfortable, beds. (Our bath, however, was small, but usable.) Breakfasts are sumptuous. Inkeepers know their town, and make good recommendations to those with limited time. The town is charming, and easily walkable, right from the front porch. We heartily recommend this inn.

“From down-under”
Rosemary WongWe were visiting from Australia and stayed at the Isaiah Jones Homestead, Sandwich, Cape Cod, recently.
We were blown away by the beauty of the place, the gorgeously furnished accommodation, and hospitality of the hosts, Katherine and Donny who also cooked sumptuous breakfasts for us.
It was the perfect spot for us to explore the Cape as well as a day trip to Martha's Vineyard.
We would not hesitate to recommend this place for a fabulous holiday experience and we would return there when our next trip takes us back to that beautiful part of the world.
Thanks for the opportunity to provide feedback!

Rosemary & Mathis

“Lovely Stay”
Mike DoranTacoma, WA
My wife and I dropped in on Don and Katherine and they could not have been more hospitable. Even though we didn't have one, a reservation is highly recommended. My wife fell in love with the decor and didn't want to leave. I appreciated being pleasantly shown the ins and out of how the property functioned from a consumers point of view. The breakfast was terrific! Care and thought obviously goes into everything---from the table setting, the dining room decorations, the coffee with Don's special blend, and the tasty servings. Yes, it was a multi course breakfast. Excellent. Other guests in the dining room were returnees and we can see why. Our hosts were also good sources for getting the most out of our time on the Cape.

“Great Get Away!”
Marie LeahyLaconia, NH
My husband and I stayed here in February with my 83 year old parents and had a wonderful experience. The rooms were beautiful with lots of character and our hosts, Don and Catherine, were exceptional. Saturday evening, after dinner at the Daniel Webster Inn (just down the street), we returned (with four of our relatives who live in Sandwich) to the Isaiah Jones to spend an hour chatting in the beautiful living room. We were so pleased to find that Don had started a fire for us. My brother and sister in law were impressed! Breakfast the next morning was fantastic! My husband is not usually a "bed and breakfast" fan but even he said that he would love to return to this particular bed and breakfast. My Mom and Dad have not stopped talking about this trip! The location, in the village of Sandwich, could not have been better. We'll be back.

“Charming, Romantic and Superb”
Linda VailletteSouthboro, MA
1/2/2011
We seldom visit the Upper Cape, but chose the Isaiah Jones Homestead for a NE Eve/day weekend getaway. From arrival right to departure, there was no doubt we had made an excellent choice. Katherine and Donnie are superb innkeepers focused on providing their guests with excellent accommodations, wonderful food and, most of all, great service and conversation. While their previous careers were people-service oriented, they have found their niche as innkeepers. Katherine's talents in the kitchen and her love of cooking is equally matched by Donnie's suave manner and skills as the maitre d' and sole wait staff. The inn is charming with each room in the inn tastefully decorated in period Victorian decor. Opting for something a little more spacious and a room with a fireplace, we opted to stay in the Carriage House and were not disappointed. Katherine and Donnie provide many "little extras" to make each stay a memorable experience.
Although Katherine is a wonderful chef, dinner at the inn are limited to only two/three times a year. However, her daily breakfasts are a wonderful treat. We arrived as strangers, but left feeling like we had made new friends ---we got so much more than we paid for. Looking forward to a repeat stay.

“Simply Perfect”
Catharine Schiavone12/6/2010
The Isaiah Jones Homestead is a step back in time to an era of grace and hospitality. The Innkeepers, Don and Katherine Sanderson, overlook no detail in making you feel pampered and welcome in Victorian style! The house is elegant and beautiful, the breakfasts are gorgeous and delicious - including their own special blend of coffee that's the best you'll find anywhere. I highly recommend making the Isaiah Jones Homestead a part of your Cape Cod experience.

Teresa Norris12/4/2010
I was dreaming of the gourmet breakfasts after our visit. Delicious! Sitting in the charming dining room was so special, and the innkeepers couldn't be more hospitable. Throw in a working fireplace in the room we stayed in, and what's not to like? The location was great too - we were able to walk to shops and great restaurants. It provided a perfect weekend getaway.

“An Absolute Must”
Tony S10/17/2010
I spent three days at this marvelous bed and breakfast. Being greeted with a very warm and inviting welcome by Katherine, I was shown to a beautifully appointed (and may I say immaculate) room. It was cozy and luxurious at the same time in its Victorian setting. Breakfast is a gourmet, three course feast. The always entertaining Donnie (he has terrific quips) serves each course in the very impressive dining room. Truly a meal which leaves ones taste buds in heaven all day. I couldn't state this well enough but, be kind and gracious to yourself by staying at Isiah Jones Homestead. To do anything else, will leave you wanting.

“Perfect hosts, beautiful place.”
Alyson Shaw10/15/2010
We were tremendously impressed with the Isaiah Jones Homestead. The house and furnishings are beautiful, and the Sandersons are perfect hosts. They are unflaggingly pleasant and always available if you need (or just want) to ask them about something. But we, being introverts, also appreciated their thoughtfully designed self-service amenities; it was nice just being able to help ourselves to a cup of coffee, or a glass of port, or a DVD. We stayed in the Dr. Samuel Beale room, which has a lovely reading bay with windows on three sides, but nestled amongst greenery so it still felt very quiet and private. The room also has a working fireplace; sitting in the four-poster in the flickering firelight really gave you the impression that you’d been transported back into the Victorian era. Katherine’s breakfasts are To Die For. Fortunately, Sandwich is highly walkable—which allowed us to burn off some of those oh-so-delicious morning calories. This was our first visit to Sandwich and the Isaiah Jones—but it most certainly won’t be our last.

“Beautiful B & B”
Beth D10/14/2010
My husband and I recently spent two nights at this inn and had a wonderful weekend. The room we had in the carriage house was lovely. There was a lovely sitting area where I curled up to read and had it been cooler I would have also used the gas fireplace. There was complimentary hot and cold drinks in the hall right outside our room - a very nice touch. The innkeepers were friendly and helpful recommending restaurants and local sights and even printed out directions for us to a nearby golf course. And the breakfasts were delicious. I would definitely recommend this inn!

“A must stay”
Chris McNally9/26/2010
This was our third stay at the Isaiah Jones Homestead; our second since Catherine and Donny have taken over. Each time we return we are even more impressed. The rooms are beautiful, quiet and impeccably clean. Catherine and Donny are the perfect hosts. They are charming, gracious and highly knowledgeable about the Cape and surrounding areas. Now, as to the best reason to stay at the Isaiah Jones Homestead: The food. Catherine's culinary skills are exquisite. I can't eat scones anywhere else now. Baked apples and pears... Pancakes and omelets... You cannot leave the breakfast table hungry or unimpressed. Try the "World Famous Donny Combo", and make sure he sings for you. Simon and Garfunkel seems to be a favorite.
We are already planning our next stay at the Isaiah Jones Homestead.

“Charming, delightful week”
Elliot Warm8/28/2010
My wife and I spent six days at this inn. I could recite all the usual superlatives for a well-run establishment of this nature - charming room, excellent service, quaint atmosphere, superb breakfasts - but the real keys to the truly special nature of the inn are the proprietors, Donnie and Katherine. They made my wife and me feel as if we were their personal guests and that we were to be accommodated as friends. When it was time to head home, we were sad not only that our vacation had ended but also that we were leaving such wonderful hosts. Donnie and Katherine apparently enjoy running the inn and dealing with people, and it is their personal touches that make a stay at this inn a unique experience.

James HardieLondon, UK,

Just returned for a short trip to New England and this was one of the highlights.
Donny and Catherine are great hosts making you feel at home as soon as you walk through the door. The breakfasts are amazing - homemade scones, pancakes, fruit dishes... The homestead is a delightful old building with furnishings to match and is a great place to relax after a busy day sight seeing.
Go for a walk around Sandwich and particularly the boardway to the beach - it's worth it. But watch out for Monday night when most restaurants are closed!

“Two nights is not nearly enough!”
Betty and Tom PoseyCrystal Lake, IL
8/7/2010
Our daughter and son-in-law raved about this place after staying there a couple of years ago, so when we learned we would be on Cape Cod for a family reunion we couldn't wait to try it.
We stayed two nights at this lovely property and wished we had more time to spend there. Sandwich is beautiful and the Isaiah Jones Homestead was fantastic. What a gorgeous house! It traneported us back to the late 1800's but with all the modern conveniences. Donnie and Katherine Sanderson were tremendous hosts. Donnie set us up at a couple of excellent local restaurants for dinner, as well as with a whale watching cruise we found fascinating. Katherine is a spectacular chef; both the presentation and the taste experience of her creations were delightful. We would encourage anyone headed for a Cape Cod vacation to plan on spending some time at this wonderful inn with its two very hospitable hosts!

Sandy Haworth6/18/2010
We recently returned from a delightful two night stay at this quaint, lovely Bed and Breakfast and highly recommend it to others! From the moment we arrived we knew we were in for a treat. The innkeepers Donnie and Katherine are very gracious; they immediately made us feel welcome. The accommodations are beautiful and we had a lot of privacy in the Carriage House. Champagne and strawberries in the room added a special touch of elegance.(This trip was planned by my husband in honor of our 30th anniversary.) The gourmet breakfasts are truly exquisite! We love the Sandwich area and had fun exploring local attractions. Donnie was extremely helpful, and arranged dinner reservations and a real treat – our first whale watch. What fun! Plan to stay at the Isaiah Jones Homestead if you are looking for the perfect blend of comfort and luxury!

My family stayed here while visiting Cape Cod and were delighted with the beautiful setting. The rooms were clean and comfortable with all the charm of Victorian ambience. Our bed rooms allowed plenty of privacy and there was extra living area for enjoying family time. “Absolutely marvelous!!!”
Jack & Evelyn K.Bethlehem, PA
2/21/2010
We have now had two stays at the Isaiah Jones Homestead Bed & Breakfast and found both stays absolutely marvelous. Don and Catherine are warm and gracious hosts and have a beautifully decorated, extremely clean, and very comfortable B&B. The multi-course gourmet breakfast is superb – great variety, wonderful tastes, and all freshly made. The dining atmosphere and service couldn’t be better. Our bedroom was very comfortable as were the public rooms where we enjoined relaxing, reading and sipping some wine. As an added plus, the B&B is right in the heart of Sandwich, a lovely town to walk in and browse (without having to move the car!!) Our first stay was on our 39th wedding anniversary and we were not disappointed. So, when we received an e-mail offering a special New Year’s Eve get-away with a special New Year’s Eve dinner that Catherine would cook, we couldn’t resist. Off we went from Pennsylvania to Cape Cod and, again, we were not disappointed. This might just become a yearly tradition for us.

“home away from home”
Sarah LeBrun12/30/2009
We have just come back from our third annual trip to the Isaiah Jones Homestead. Each December we enjoy a night or two away at the inn and keep coming back because of the incredible hospitality of Donnie and Katherine. On our first visit, Donnie enthusiastically told us of the home's history while Katherine busily prepared some delicious orange brownies for an afternoon snack! The rooms are beautiful and full of decorative details, the beds very comfortable and the whirlpool tubs a nice treat! And the 3-course breakfast lovingly prepared by Katherine and charmingly served by Donnie just can't be beat. My husband unashamedly requests Katherine's blueberry pancakes each time we book! And of course, she accommodates. It truly does feel like home away from home!

The Isaiah Jones Homestead met all of our requests from a bed and breakfast: an engaging host who appreciates that his guests aren’t there to see him yet who is accessible and ever friendly and knowledgeable, walking distance to good restaurants, a bright, appealing room with a comfortable bed, an above average breakfast served at a private table, a reasonable rate and parking on site. “Great Getaway”
Marc JarvisSan Diego, CA

Our room was very nice with all the necessities and plenty of welcome touches. The gourmet breakfasts were made by Katherine and served by Don and were wonderful. The setting is very peaceful and relaxing and we were able to walk to dinner and the beach. The highlight of the stay was the hospitality of Don and Katherine - they were great and helped us have the perfect stay.

“Very Romantic! Beyond Imagination! Beyond Expectations!”
Michele ClaphamWynantskill, NY
8/12/2009
The Isaiah Jones Homestead experience was way beyond our expectations - beyond what we could have imagined! Don and Katherine made us feel like we were their only guests, despite the full parking lot! The beautifully and elegantly appointed room was only overshadowed by the amazing breakfasts that were served each morning! Homemade doesn't give these meals justice, Katherine 'hand crafts' exquisite, melt in your mouth meals to start your day of sight seeing right! Truly an amazing experience!

“Wonderful Place to Stay”
Rachel BartonCoventry,
8/9/2009
We felt very welcome from the moment we arrived to when we had to leave. The atmosphere was delightfully relaxing. Don & Katherine made us feel very welcome and that nothing was too much trouble. They were able to recommend places to eat and the best routes to take to visit Cape Cod. Our room was very comfortable and clean. The breakfasts were sumptious. We stayed for 3 nights and wished that we were able to stay longer.

“Perfect Hospitality”
Michael Gabert8/4/2009
We stayed at the Isaiah Jones Homestead for one night. The innkeepers were welcoming and gave us a wonderful tour of the beautiful home.
The bed was very comfortable and the linens were fresh and delightful. Our room had a hot tub that made for a very relaxing evening.
I cannot say enough about the hospitality of the innkeepers. They wanted us to enjoy our stay and insisted upon calling a local restaurant to reserve a table for us. This was a real treat as it is always uncomfortable figuring out where to eat, much less make your own reservations.
I greatly wish that we would have scheduled more time here on our vacation.

“The Isaiah Jones Homestead”

isaiah Jones B&B
We recently stayed at the Isaiah Jones Homestead in Sandwich, MA (Cape Cod). It was one of the best B&B's we've say in. The accomodations were top notch, the location idealic, and the three course breakfasts were superb! However, what made the stay so memorable were the inn keepers - Donnie and Katherine Sanderson. They not only made us feel welcome, thay made us feel like family. A must stay for anyone going to the Cape. Gary and Michele, Newtown, PA

“Perfect Getaway”
Patrick Mooreattleboro, MA

If its comfort, relaxation and convenience that you are looking for, well then then look no further. The Isiah Jones Homestead Bed and Breakfast, located in Historic Sandwich, MA., is ideal for that very much needed week long getaway, without the children.
There are several beautiful rooms to choose from, mostly in the main house. However there are two very nice rooms in the carriage house out back.
Breakfast is incredibly good to say the least, at the Isaiah Jones Homestead. And if you stay for more than just one night you'll see that its not the same food every morning like some other B&B's. One morning they would have Feta/Herb Omelettes and banana muffins. The next morning, amazingly delicious cranberry scones and pancakes. And of course who could forget the perfect blend of fresh orange juice with a splash of cranberry.
As it turned out my wife and I stayed in the carriage house. Our room, which was more than accomodating, overlooked a little garden area in the back yard with this great little fish pond and brook. If you listen at night you can hear the water trickling through. Its very peaceful.
One thing that is so great about this inn is that, unlike so many other places on the cape, its open in the off season.

“Savoring the ambience”
Jim RLos Angeles, CA
6/2/2009
Ambience is a key to enjoyment. The ambience of the May stay was not only in the charm of this 1849 Victorian Inn, but also in the attitude of the owners, Katherine & Don Sanderson. They are genial hosts dedicated to facilitating a memorable experience without attempting to be intrusive or overanxious in doing so. For example, what better way to start one leisurely morning than in the intimacy of a small dining room and being able to look out on a yard with white pear blossoms, purple lilac bushes & cherry blossoms. Savoring the setting was just part of relishing a breakfast including buttermilk pancakes that were light, fluffy, delicious, and easily separated with only the fork. Hunger was not a factor in responding yes to Don's inquiry about wanting to have more of Katherine's special recipe. Interesting full days on Cape Cod commenced with a fulfilling beginning, and ended with satiated sleep. Sometimes there can be a nostalgia for an unhurried past that can be disappointing, but Isaiah Jones Homestead is definitely not a disappointment

“Wonderfully Romantic!”
Beth and Marc Halley5/12/2009
While visiting family in Sandwich, we had the pleasuer of staying at the Isiah Jones. We were greeted by a wonderful host, fresh flowers in a beautifully appointed bedroom and lovely soft music that fills the air in this lovely romantic and historic Cape Cod Inn.
The homemade cranberry scones, grilled pineapple and fluffy french toast topped with macadamia nuts were part of absolutley delicious breakafasts served in a sun-filled dining room.
We and our family were treated with gracious hospitality. We look forward to visiting the Isiah Jones and Cape Cod again soon!

“Winter Relaxation”
Karen Hughes4/27/2009
My husband and I had the opportunity to stay in the Isaiah Jones B & B for four nights in February of this year. The inn is lovely and the food and hospitality superb. Donnie and Katherine were the perfect hosts. Although this was not peak season for Massachusetts, we were treated to a beautiful snowfall the day we left and would have loved to curl up in front of the fireplace and read a good book. We had a great time and will certainly plan to return again and again.

“A Wonderful Stay”
Susan Moore4/18/2009
Our room was lovely - Victorian decor, modern amenities, comfortable bed. The breakfasts, created by Katherine and served by Donnie, were delicious, beuatifully presented, and differed each morning. Our hosts were delightful, and their B & B was perfectly located for our purposes - rest and relaxation with easy access to stores, restaurants and the beach.

“Charming, Romantic B&B”
Candace ChapmanMilford, CT
4/15/2009
My husband and I had the pleasure of celebrating our 20th anniversary at the Isaiah Jones from 4/13-4/15 2009. The town of Sandwich is the perfect place for long strolls, with many shops, historical buildings, and eating establishments so it was the perfect place for us to relax and enjoy our anniversary. We stayed in a charming and very clean room with reading alcove and working fireplace and had a lovely suprise waiting for us in our room when we arrived-a bottle of champagne on ice with strawberries and chocolates. It was completely unexpected and a great way to begin our stay. Breakfasts were three course, homemade, and delicious-my husband is still talking about the homemade apricot/almond scones. We had the added advantage of being the only couple at the B&B for both nights and so we had the innkeepers, Don and Katherine, to ourselves and were able to have leisurely chats with them in the morning-something that we enjoy doing. They were very gracious hosts, arranging dinner reservations for us and helping us with suggestions for places to visit during our stay. We so enjoyed meeting them and had such a lovely stay that we have decided to return in December to see the inn decorated for the holidays. I honestly have nothing negative to say about this B&B and have already recommended it to friends.
