A Wonderful B&B!!

During a trip to New England in September of 2010 we had the great pleasure to stay at the Inn Victoria in Chester, Vermont. It is one of the most charming B&B’s we have ever stayed in anywhere in the world—no kidding! The town is right out of a Norman Rockwell painting and we enjoyed high tea in the afternoon and a delicious breakfast with the other guests the next morning. Each of the rooms were beautifully appointed and very comfortable and cozy. Penny and Daniel (Cote) are excellent hosts and were full of good advice on what to do in the area and where to eat. We happened to have supper in a 200 year old stage coach stop in the next town that they recommended—it was like eating in a quaint English pub lit by firelight. Mary and I would highly recommend the Inn Victoria to anyone wanting to step back in time to an elegance and comfort rarely seen today. John and Mary Boles, Overland Park, Kansas

Cozy Romantic Getaway

Our stay at inn victoria was perfect from the start. First let me say that penny was simply amazing, making arrangements for a romantic weekend went very smoothly and the chocolate strawberries were a very nice touch. Our room was extremely cozy and we felt immediately at home. On our first day we had high tea and it was simply amazing and should never be missed. Penny is a awesome cook and she fed us well. Her breakfast was to die for and dinner surely did not disappoint either. Penny was also kind enough to recommend some very fine restaurants and spa which made our weekend magical. Not to be out done Dan also held it together, everyone was super helpful and we enjoyed our conversations with the other guests at the inn. One very nice surprise was that there is a skating pond behind the inn which anyone can use in winter. The town of chester was very cute and you should definitely also stop by the town bakery baba a louis for some excellent baked bread. We enjoyed our stay and were very reluctant to leave. We will definitely return in the future.

Ample everything

We took our family here (mother, father, and our 20-something year old children) and everybody slept well, ate well, played well and had a great experience. Penny & Dan are ideal innkeepers, because they have thought of everything for each kind of guest. They truly enjoy people, but they also know how to allow for privacy and give your family the sense that you have the house to yourself. Penny's baking and cooking is beyond delicious. And the enormous bathtubs redefine luxurious. Lots to do in Chester, and fantastic tio have this Inn as a base.

Weekdays away

The Inn keepers, the cook (who won't give her soup recipes away) and the help were not only great hospitality entrepreneurs but great loving people. They all will tell you the best of everything in the area and well, you won't want to leave.

Best B&B ever!

Penny and Dan were gracious and kind Innkeepers. You feel right at home at Inn Victoria due to their hospitality. The room we stayed in (Princess Victoria) was gorgeous and very romantic. Breakfast was delicious and the area is simply gorgeous.

This was our first experience with a B&B and I must say Dan and Penny made our stay the most comfortable we have had. They make you feel like it's all about you. Thanks for the great experience.

Friendly Respite

The Innkeepers, Penny and Dan, were exceptionally inviting and accommodating. Our breakfast of poppyseed cake, warm pear crepes with maple syrup and eggs benedict in puff pastry was delicious and our room, Prince Albert, was very comfortable and spacious. We wouldn't change a thing about our stay!

Just a perfect weekend

We were looking for a romantic getaway to celebrate our anniversary and the Inn Victoria turned out to be the perfect place! The romance starts on the outside and just gets better as you move along. The rooms have old world charm but with modern day comforts. The service is befitting royalty and the town is quintessential New England. There are plenty of wonderful places to eat but don't miss the Scottish pub just down the street.

Charming/Quiet/Relaxing

A place to go where one can sit back and reflect on life. The inn is beautifully appointed....wonderful bathtubs!!! The charm and victorian style add a piece of old world to the fast pace of today. The town is simply delightful and one can walk and walk. The innkeepers are considerate and very nice to spend time with. I look forward to going back.

Very Relaxing & Romantic!

My husband & I recently stayed a few nights to celebrate his Birthday & what a delightful surprise! Penny made sure a cake was baked & waiting at the front door when we arrived...baked by Jessica! The room was warm, clean, comfy, & had all the amenities! We stayed in the back of the house (refurbished barn) & had full acess to the hot tub on the back deck! We also enjoyed our double shower & claw-footed tub to the fullest! Penny, Dan, & Jessica were overly accomodating, warm, & friendly. We highly recommend eating or stoping to have a Scottish beer at Mcloamainn's down the street-excellent! We're planning a return visit & bringing our parents for a stay.

Wonderful place to stay

By far the best B&B I have been to. I literally left broken hearted, as I did not want to leave the B&B, the innkeepers or VT. Penny, Dan & Jessica are truly some of the nicest people you will encounter during your stay in VT. You have no choice but to stay at the Inn Victoria, as it truly is a top-notch establishment. We booked the Princess Beatrice room because we were on a budget. The room was very cute and cozy with a half a wall separating it from the bathroom. It was an adjustment at first to be so open with my husband, but hey, we are in it for the long run, and we made it through just fine. The bed was probably the MOST comfortable bed I have ever slept in my entire life. The feather pillow topper and amazingly fluffy pillows and 1,500 thread count sheets will make waking up in the morning one of the most difficult things you will have to do while on vacation, but the breakfast makes up for it. Wonderful food, will keep you full well past lunch. And if you are there on a Fri-Sun, you will be full until High Tea Time, which you MUST attend to! Penny makes you feel like a queen! Our first evening in Chester, Dan the "ambassador" gave us an awesome recommendation list on a map, giving us the highlights we'd want to check out whilst in the area. We originally booked 2 nights there, but after our first day, we wanted to extend our stay and spoke with Penny about it. She was happy to do that (as the room was free) and when we checked out, she only charged us 50% the room rate! That just about made me tear up. When we left, we told them we'd be back and received genuine hugs from all three. We will definitely return and recommend that you all do too.

#1 in Chester

Just back from a 2 night, 3 day--1st time stay--at Inn Victoria. The owners weren't there as this is the case often during the week according to Jessica....the most woderful, hardest working manager I have ever met. Not an issue that she couldn't handle with grace, charm, and over the top energy. We didn't have any issues by the way!! Just loved everything. High Tea Sunday, Breakfast Monday & Tuesday....We arrived as guests and left as family. Want a place where you can go unwind and relax.....GO HERE. Want a place where the oven always seems to turn out incredible baked goods......GO HERE. Want to add to your "family" GO HERE. Beautiful Inn, comfortable bed, awesome service, one of the MOST RELAXING couple of days off I've ever had the chance to experience. Unwind, de-stress, relax and enjoy. Breath the fresh VT air......Chester charm. Inn Victoria we will be back!!

Awesome!

We just spent three nights at this wonderful B&B while in VT for a ski/family reunion. We knew we were onto something special when someone took our luggage up to our room, while we removed our wintry boots to preserve the cleanliness of the carpets. From this point, it was all up hill: Kim was extremely helpful, friendly and accommodating. Jessica's energy will put any alarm clock or brand of coffee to shame as a wake up tool to start your morning--smiles, laughter, energy, curiosity and just plain fun to chat with. Although living a very busy lifestyle, Penny & Dan immediately make you feel at home and ready to do just about anything to make your stay the best ever. The room & bed were comfortable and accommodating; breakfasts were filling and plentiful, leaving no room for lunch, which worked perfectly for us, since we'd rather spend our time on the mountain than in a ski area cafeteria. We left with hugs and smiles from all; a nice gift to take from anywhere. We'll be back. If you haven't experienced it yet, I encourage you to do so.
