My husband and I stayed here right after our wedding...First impression: it smelled as if about 20 cats lived there, and carpet desperately needed replacement. We arrived later than expected at 8:45 pm, and the woman who worked the office stated she goes to bed at 9pm. We walked outside real quick to get our bags, and when we came back to the house, we discovered she inadvertently locked us out. No big deal, but when we started ringing the door bell, she finally came out, looking at me thru the window as if I was crazy. I told her we were locked out, and she shook her head in disgust and mouthed the words "oh-my-God" ! She let us in, and was so rude to us!! We will NOT be staying there again. On the up side, Jaz, the Chef, was awesome, and his breakfast was FABULOUS!!

Inn at Seventeen Mile Drive

JenniferI just wrapped up a 4 night stay at Rhe Inn at 213 Seventeen Mile Drive and it was exactly what I was looking for. The innkeeper Steve goes out of his way to make all his guests - whether a one-night stay or a month- feel completely at home. The inn is perfectly situated in a residential area right at the corner of Lighthouse and 17 Mile Drive; it's about a 5 minute walk to the Pacific Grove "downtown". Good quiet area. I had the smallest room but for one person, or two who don't plan on being there much will find it comfy. The bed was surprisingly comfortable; and, the private bath spotless and spacious. Steve and Jim (of the owner's family) made terrifc breakfasts and hors d'hoevres. You'll have to ask Steve about his "deep fried" berry pancakes. Delicious! And, the evening snacks could well be dinner - not just cheese and crackers. It's obvious that Steve and the owners care about their guests.
