Circa 1841. Historic Greenwich Village sets the tone for these two, red-brick, landmark townhouses. The trademark Victorian double parlor boasts two fireplaces and a baby grand piano from the 1930s. Antiques and artwork reflect an old-world charm. Pleasantly appointed guest bedrooms offer an assortment of amenities. Most studios feature kitchenettes and fireplaces. Choose from a four-poster, sleigh, ornate iron and brass bed or a sleeping loft with a double futon. The inn is centrally located to all the city has to offer, and gays are welcome here.

Innkeeper Note

Incentra Village House, built in 1841, occupies two landmark townhouses at 32 Eighth Avenue between West 12th and Jane Streets in New York's Greenwich Village Historic District. As an alternative to Midtown's steel and glass, we offer our guests a warm welcome in our cozy double Victorian parlor with two fireplaces, antiques, artwork and a 1930s baby grand piano. To get to your room you'll wander down narrow halls and up charming old stairways to one of 12 unique rooms, decorated and named either for a city that the founder lived in or for specific artwork or furniture in the room. We fill up quickly; weekends are usually booked four weeks in advance; holiday and special event periods even further. One of our major advantages is our location in Greenwich Village, a pleasant and attractive residential neighborhood and the traditional center of gay life in New York City. Chelsea, the neighborhood a few blocks to the North, has experienced a gay awakening and enjoys a mix of attractions similar to the Village. Ideally situated, Incentra is within walking distance of all that both neighborhoods have to offer and enjoys easy access to all parts of New York City.
