Description

Circa 1700. Gracing the historic village of Hurley, New York, this Hudson Valley Dutch vernacular estate spans six acres with gardens and woods fronting Esopus Creek. The Cornelis Kool House features a covered porch and bluestone patio with a wooden swing, benches and picnic tables to enjoy. Each exceptional guest room is named after a painting by the famous artist Johannes Vermeer. Air-conditioned accommodations boast Frette linens and may include four-poster beds, spa showers, whirlpools or antique clawfoot tubs. Indulge in a daily three-course gourmet breakfast made with home-grown, local and organic ingredients when possible. Located on the Delaware and Hudson Canal Heritage Corridor, there are miles of paved and wooded trails adjacent to the Catskills State Park near the Shawangunk Mountains and Mohawk Preserves. Woodstock and Rhinebeck are popular attractions within an 18-minute drive amid the peaceful countryside.

Divine Getaway & Superb Innkeepers

The Stone House Bed and Breakfast was one of our favorite inns on our roadtrip in Upstate NY. The innkeepers are avid historians and their British heritage adds flavor to interpreting the Hugenot influence on this area and their superbly restored 300-year old stone house high on a bluff above the Esopus River near Kingston. Wonderful beds and excellent breakfast. Great recommendations for dinner, too.

InnSide Tip - Try Tapas on Your Trip
Elephant is a tapa restaurant in Kingston a couple miles from the inn. Fabulous tapas which stood on their own without the bread! The favorite meal on our girlfriend getaway trip.
