Description

Circa 1883. Owner David Stuart estimates that it will take several years to remove the concrete-based brown paint applied by a bridge painter in the '60s to cover the 7,000-square-foot, Stick-style Victorian house. The interior, however, only needed a tad of polish. The varnished cherry and bird's-eye maple woodwork is set aglow under electrified gaslights. Don't let the exterior renovations deter your visit. Ninety stained-glass windows, eight pocket doors with stained glass and a magnificent entryway reward those who pass through.

flabbergasted

Although the guide at the door had warned us that the interior was incredible, we were still flabbergasted when we stepped into the foyer of this house.
