Romantic oasis

You are transported the minute you walk into this Victorian landmark, which is even more gorgeous since being authentically restored after an Easter Sunday fire. The lovely landscaping and architectural touches invite you into a genteel gem that envelops you with its elegant but warm charm and ambiance. Each guest room has marble fireplaces, fine period linens and bedding but also features modern amenities like jacuzzis and flatscreen TVs. The Zagat-rated restaurant never disappoints, with its tremendous cuisine, piano music and attentive service. I can't wait to return.

Wonderful B&B, Wonderful Wedding...

My husband and I got married at The Gables 4 years ago. We were looking for more than the generic wedding experience and The Gables far exceeded our expectations. Till this day, we all agree that our wedding had the best food of all weddings. Everything was personalized and no detail was overlooked. Since that night, my husband and I have made it a point to visit The Gables every year, either for a wonderful dinner or to spend a night in one of their beautiful rooms. We have now stayed in 3 out of the 5 rooms and each room has been an amazing experience. Brunch, which is included with your stay, is delicious and the wait staff is attentive without being too overwhelming. The Gables is by far our favorite Bed and Breakfast sites and one of our favorite restaurants. This place will always be special to us because we married here, but it will continue to be one of our favorite places to stay/eat because of the overall exceptional quality and magical feeling you get as soon as you walk in.

Like no other Inn !

The Gables is truly a one of a kind Inn. Located on Long Beach Island in Beach Haven, the location is exquisite. Perfect for a getaway but also great for a special occasion, wedding, business trip, or party. The rooms are beautiful and the service is impeccable . The restaurant has the best food that Long beach Island has to offer. You can not go wrong. You will find the staff very helpful. There is also a theatre around the corner with the best that Broadway has to offer. The beach is one block from the Inn. What more could you want? Do yourself a favor a treat yourself and your loved ones to this magnificent Inn.

Romance by the Sea

Fabulous food, gracious hospitality and simply charming accomodations. The rooms are beautifully decorated with couples in mind. Fresh pastries in the Library and in the summer, a gorgeous porch and back patio for dining al fresco. Romance awaits at the Gables.

My happy place!

I have had the opportunity to dine at The Gables for casual Friday, Valentines Day, and for my wedding! All of my experiences have had a different feel, but what is always consistent is the friendly staff, delicious food, and beautiful ambiance. I highly recommend staying over night so you get the entire experience of The Gables. After you explore the beautiful decor in your room, you will sleep like a baby and wake up to a delicious breakfast. I can taste the chocolate croissants right now...melt right in your mouth! Each time my husband and I enter The Gables, we instantly feel happiness as it takes us right back to our wedding day. The memories that The Gables holds for us is extremely profound and will always be our #1 place to visit.

Simply the best

The Gables is one of the most amazing places I have ever had the privilege of staying. Their attention to comfort, detail, and luxury is unparalleled. The food is out of this world, from breakfast to dinner to the complimentary cookies and other treats available throughout the day in the library. My husband and I got married at The Gables and our friends and family still comment about the food! Likewise, we still receive comments about the beautiful setting and personalized service. The rooms are well-appointed and romantic, and you will always be treated like a VIP when you stay at The Gables. My husband and I love it so much, we plan to return for many years to come.

An Incredibly Romantic Stay...

I recently had the pleasure of spending an incredibly romantic stay at The Gables Inn and Restaurant in Beach Haven on Long Beach Island in New Jersey. My companion and I hold in high regard fine accommodations, sumptuous meals and attentive service and that was exactly what we received. The Gables is a meticulously appointed Victorian guesthouse replete with a restaurant to rival any New Jersey four star establishment. The staff is easy and friendly-anything but stuffy-and attentive to every detail. Our room was so much more than we expected, complete with period furnishings, a gorgeous marble bath, the finest down pillows and comforter with duvet, luxurious linens and fluffy towels. The meal was truly memorable. Far from the standard shore fare, The Gables restaurant embraces the farm to table experience, "slow food" at its freshest and finest. We began with mussels steamed with saffron, and followed with a salad of local micro-greens dressed impeccably. My companion had the duck breast with fresh grilled Jersey peaches and I was fortunate enough to have chosen the lamb chops, with an apricot and curry glaze, prepared perfectly medium rare and accompanied by a Moroccan couscous. We were as comfortable as we could have imagined, all the while feeling pampered, catered to and completely and ultimately sated. We plan to return time and time and time again, knowing we will feel the same about each and every visit.

Charming and Romantic

My husband and I spent a very romantic weekend at "The Gables" in the fall of 2012. The room was charming and clean and the staff was warm and friendly especially Sandy who took very good care of us, we just love talking with her every time we visit. As for the food, if your a "Foodie" like Tom and I you have come to the right place. For starters, try the crab cakes - mouth watering and for our main course Tom had the lamb chops and I had the short ribs, well let's just say they were done to perfection and finally the homemade "Honey Lavender" ice cream is to die for - really. I grew up in the restaurant business and I give the "The Gables" an A+ Sincerely, Tom and Stephanie
