Snowed Inn

Snowed Inn and lov’inn it! I am a frequent guest of Inn at the Park B&B in South Haven, MI as they offer a fantastic price for corporate stays for single travelers…not as in unmarried but as in traveling alone on business. Anyway, my midway point to home is South Haven and I decided to stay on the eve of the “Blizzard of 2011” just to be on the safe side. Not only was the media telling us not to travel, I was tired and needed to get off the road anyway. So, I called Carol Ann and she, of course, greeted me with a big smile and a big hug at the door and got me all settled inn. We chatted over a glass of wine in the Pub while also watching the developing story about the blizzard. During the night South Haven reached at least 14 inches of snow, most business, churches and City offices were closed, and we were being asked NOT to travel. What’s a girl to do? I had my computer so I could work but it was like having a Play Day because of the storm. So guess what happened? Carol Ann said, “c’mon into the kitchen and work with me”. She had to begin preparing for the upcoming Winter Festival weekend and that I should help her. I put on an apron and we made cookie dough for bedtime cookies, pie crusts for quiche breakfast and some spinach potatoes. What fun. I took the recipes home and have a hungry husband to try them on. What a memory of my time at the Inn at the Park, the storm, and the hospitality of South Haven, MI.

Romantic, restful & enjoyable. . .

My husband & I recently celebrated our wedding anniversity at the Inn at the Park B&B. Carol Ann & Jerry are warm, kind and friendly & go out of their way to make your stay complete. They take great pride in their inn & that is apparent throughout the entire inn: upscale, neat, clean & relaxing. Breakfast is simply wonderful & a great way to begin a day; Carol Ann is more than willing to share her recipes. Prime location: half block from harbor, one block from the lake, across the street from a park and a few blocks from downtown. This is a lovely & beautiful inn to have a romantic, paceful &/or relaxing night or two with that special person in your life. Can't speak highly enough of this inn - we look forward to a return visit in the future.

Donna -

I recently stayed at the Inn at the Park for a retreat. I was impressed with the accomodations, the large rooms, and above all, fireplaces in each room. The Inn would be great for company retreats, a friends get-away, or even the romantic weekend. The food was great, especially the french toast. Carol Ann and Jerry went out of their way to make us feel at home. I'm ready to go again!!

Charming, Lovely & Romantic

My stay at Inn at the Park was very enjoyable. The rooms are decorated with beautiful fabrics and nice pieces of furniture. The attention to detail in all the rooms is lovely! The fireplaces in the rooms make every room so cozy! The large room where a very nice breakfast is served has a large open windows with a very nice view of the park across the street. The front parlor is a relaxing place to chat with a glass of wine & the tasty hors doeuvres made by the Innkeeper while enjoying the cozy fireplace. Nice amenities in the room from the soothing bath salts for the whirlpool tub to the fragrance of the soap. A lovely place to stay for one night or several nights. A good location close to the charming South Haven town if you choose to walk or drive. The Innkeepers make it a point to make sure your stay is special.

Not quite up to par

We have stayed at the Inn at the Park at least 4 times and I must say, this last stay was very disappointing. I'm not sure we will go back. It is under different owners and you can tell things have changed. There used to be warm cookies at 3:00. They still have snacks in the evening, but miss the chocolate covered strawberries. Breakfast still excellent. Rooms are beautiful and inn is decorated very nicely. A luxury inn should NOT have scratchy toilet paper! Bed was extremely uncomfortable. Room was beautiful. Sink too high - made for someone about 6' 6"! Kind of a half and half thing. Not sure we would go back. Not like it used to be, but prices just as high. Not a good value for the money.

Romantic Runaway

I wanted romance, he wanted a big TV for the game. We got both. The room was lovely with a large flat screen TV and a Jacuzzi when the game was done. LOL. the breakfast was great and with no kids around it was the romantic getaway we were looking for.
