Historic Interest

The hotel was built in 1927 and named the Blue Lantern Inn. It was a social hub of the young city of Coronado. Women's groups and the Rotary were regular customers of the cafe. The hotel has been in operation continuously since 1927. The recent renovation, completed in 2014, returned the exterior and much of the first floor back to its original finishings.

Comfortable, Clean, Classic

We got a one night stay at the Hotel Marisol as a gift and right after check in we decided to upgrade to a 3rd floor suite and add an extra night. The room was very clean, well appointed with a very comfortable bed, comfy couch, upholstered chair, great TV that could be swiveled for viewing in the sitting area and also while in bed, mini fridge and a jetted tub that my wife just loved. My wife doesn't do stairs and the classic elevator was a real treat along with the lobby sitting area and the large outdoor patio. The staff was very friendly and very helpful. Street parking was not a problem for the few times we actually drove somewhere on the Island and we quickly found out that most everything other than the stuff by the ferry landing was in easy walking distance. This place is a gem - we'll be back.

FANTASTIC! We loved this hotel and would recommend it to everyone! So close to the beach and really central to all shopping and food. Staff is great and greets you with champagne when you check in. Rooms are clean and amazing. Beautiful lobby, lounge area and patio in the back!

Excellent Retreat

We occupied all the rooms for a 4 day company retreat and it was excellent. The newly renovated meeting room was perfect and we took advantage of the nice outdoor garden area. The staff were so nice and cordial, the rooms were clean and new, and the location is great. Thank you to the team at Hotel Marisol Coronado!

Wonderful Anniversary Stay

The hotel was wonderful and we would definitely stay here again. It has a great location for walking or riding bikes to everything. The hotel has been beautifully renovated and is very quiet. The room was extremely clean and the bed was very comfortable. Everything seemed brand new. Loved having the Keurig in the room. You can't beat the continental breakfast, complimentary bikes and beach chairs included with your room. We used the bikes everyday, they are very comfortable cruisers. It's a very easy walk or bike to the beach. The staff at Marisol was always friendly and helpful. We had no problems finding a non metered place to park our rental car.

Private Club Experience that's close to everything

My wife and I stayed at the Marisol for a four-day weekend. We were able to park the car nearby and never got in it until we left - the Marisol was close to everything! The helpful staff (I requested to-go coffee cups so we could enjoy our morning coffee on the beach, cups which then magically appeared on the buffet) was able to loan us beach chairs for the the two-block walk to Coronado's fantastic beach. Our room was just perfect, and I appreciate that when they did the renovation they installed Halcyon split systems so that you don't have to listen to the AC compressor cycle on and off all night! Being able to walk to all of our activities -- beach, shopping, meals were the stand-outs), was just great. Already discussing our next trip!

Great Weekend Getaway

Spent a wonderful 3 nights at the Marisol. The room was lovely and the staff was so friendly. I was welcomed with an offer of champagne and an invite to a wine/champagne social that evening in their living room area. They served a continental breakfast each morning. It would have been great to have that in their courtyard but it rained most of the weekend. Next time! If you are a history buff, you'll love the elevator! Over 85 years old and one of the first automated elevators ever built by the Otis Elevator company - fun! The Inn is located right in the heart of downtown Coronado. Right across the street was a hair/nail salon and right next door is a great lunch restaurant. You can walk everywhere in town and are only blocks from the ocean. For a rare treat, the house where Frank Baum is rumored to have written the Wizard of Oz is located only doors down from the inn. You'll know the one because it has a sign on the door "Wizard of Oz Avenue". I'll definitely be back.
