Weekend Getaway

It was such an absolutely wonderful relaxing experience. The rooms were very homey & comfortable, the food was ablsolutely wonderful & fresh, & the area was like a little piece of heaven. I expected it to be relaxing but was blown away by how wonderful the whole experience was. I will definatly be back for the crabbing, boat rides, & walking the town to shop. Thank you soo much for such a great experience.

Southern Comfort

If you are planning a trip to Virginia's Northern Neck, consider booking a room at Flowering Fields B&B. You will find Southern Hospitality at it's best at this charming site. Relax on the front porch and enjoy a lovely, rural setting surrounded by natures beauty. Contemplate your day, then feast on Susan's fresh from the kitchen gourmet breakfast which features seasonal fruit and hot off the stove home made Virginia crab cakes - better than any you have ever tasted! Various members of my family and I have visited Flowering Fields many times and we are never disappointed.

Serene & Romantic

The birds are singing, the flowers are in bloom, and the trees are magnificent! The breakfast table was eloquently set with silver and glass. The presentation of the food was beautiful. The B&B is quiet and tranquil. Our stay was wonderful and we couldn't have asked for more. Our hostess was delightful. Good conversation and so much more!

Exceptional stay

My friend and I visited the Inn a couple of week-ends ago. Although the weather was not perfect, everything about the bed and breakfast was. Susan is a marvelous hostess, serving the best of foods for her scrumptious breakfast - much more than I could eat for two meals and it was all delicious. When the weather cleared up, we went outside to visit her horses and dogs. There is nothing better than being out in the country with pets that are so friendly to visitors. Susan was very helpful in offering us info. on places to visit and directions on how to get there. Upon returning from a day's adventure, we were offered wine or other beverages with the other guests or we could retire to our room or another room in the spacious house and enjoy our refreshments and read. If I'm ever visiting the Northern Neck again, I will be sure to call and make reservations early.

Serenity, Beauty, Comfort, Romantic

We had a wonderful stay at Flowering Fields Sept. 25-27, 2009! The glorious peace and quiet was just what we wished for, there in the middle of 40 acres. The home is beautiful and well-kept, our king bed was SO comfortable, and our bathroom seemed brand new and was sparkling clean. Susan and her assistant were gracious and thoughtful of our every possible need. Our breakfasts were delicious, healthful, and gourmet, all at the same time, and presented beautifully. Check-in/out times were very flexible, and the lovely home and grounds were all open to us. Susan was a wealth of information, and we were so glad we took some of her suggestions, particularly for one evening of incrdible dining, and also for a refreshing long walk at an area we had not yet seen (Hughlett's Point). We enjoyed the two beautiful, friendly dogs, too. This was our second visit to the area - we came in for the Northern Neck River (Bicycle) Ride each time. This B&B was very close to the home base of the ride, and we were pleased with how quickly we could get there, as it is quite near the southern end of Kilmarnock. And, besides all the beauty and excellent service, the price of our stay was very modest, I thought. I would highly recommend Flowering Fields Bed and Breadfast to anyone visiting the Northern Neck. You will be treating yourself! We certainly hope to come back next year.

Wonderful Romantic Destination

My husband and I had a wonderful time at Flowering Fields. The hostesses were very accommodating. They cooked our breakfast in the morning after we woke up. It feature the most spectacular crab cakes. When we arrived Friday evening we were greeted by flaming torches along the sidewalks. The rooms were charming and cozy. My husband and I were able to have long quiet time rocking on the front porch. The place is just of route 3 and well worth the travel.

Outstanding hospitality and food!

What a great B & B! My husband and I went to this area for a getaway weekend and had a marvelous time. Susan and Wayne (innkeepers) provided outstanding hospitality, beyond gourmet breakfasts (incredible food and some of the best crabcakes I have ever had!), and lots of charm. The only thing that would have made it better would have been if the weather had cooperated a little more :). We will definitely plan to come back in warmer weather!
