Wonderful Stay

Thank you both for a wonderful relaxing stay. You have created an elegant, beautiful environment that feels more like a retreat then a bed and breakfast. There is a sense of calm, peace, and meditation. I love your cat and your breakfasts.

Wonderful gourmet meal

It seems thee are things we take for granted when coming to be pampered. One of those is the hours of time, preperation, and hard work to prepare such a wonderful gourmet meal. We heard about these knives and haven't used ours yet but the next time we come, tell us if the stories are true that they never need to be sharpened!!! Until next time, thanks. From our hearts.

Amazing Place

What an amazing place! Mark and Gayle's attention to detail and their incomparable hospitality and friendliness make you feel welcomed like no other place. Our biggest regret and only is that we only spent one night our fist time here. We're definitely coming back for a longer retreat to this wonderful B&B! Awesome food too!

Beautiful B&B

Thank you so much for your hospitality. Your B&B is the most beautiful B&B we have ever stayed at. We truly appreciate how clean and gorgeous these rooms are. Please don't lose that trait because it makes your place the "cream of the crop". It was so nice not to have to wipe or disinfect anything. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Every detail perfected!

We were greeted by Gayle & a plate of her freshly baked welcome cookies & fed the trout with Mark at their beautiful pond on our way out. This place is as heavenly as you can imagine from top to bottom, start to finish. Not a single, amazing detail was overlooked: the romance, comfort & privacy of the rooms, the hearty 5 star breakfasts, their knowledge of the area & local favored hot spots, the gorgeous property gardens, and - our personal favorite - the warm & cozy accomodation of our 4-legged K9 familiy member. :o) I could go on & on... They spare no expense to make this a truly unforgettable experience. Don't think twice about making this a must for your next weekend getaway!

An Amazing Experience

My wife and I decided to give each other a weekend getaway for Christmas. She found Eden Vale Inn on Trip Advisor and noticed not a single bad comment was made about this place. We were not disappointed. The room was wonderful with romance in mind including the fireplace, lighting, and private Japanese soaking tubs on the terrace. We soaked for 3 hours the first night. You walk into the main house for breakfast and realize the architectual genius with the conversion of an old California dairy barn into a two story lodge-like residence. You are greeted with a gorgeous Tahoe like fire place towering through the open ceiling 35 feet above, stoked with brilliant warmth. Mark, the owner, left the original block and shackle pully system used to store hay for the antique value. The breakfast was nothing less than gourmet with Mark's wife Gayle cooking to perfection. The surrounding grounds is a lavish garden that Gayle has been perfecting for over 20 years. No expense was spared when they built this place to assure you leave well rested, well fed, and astonished with the atmosphere. You will be pleased!

Very Pleased

When my wife and I pulled up to the office we were met outside by Gail, the wife of the husband and wife team (owners). She then ushered us to our room and showed us all the details of the private large tub, gas fireplace, lighting, and entertainment system. That kindness set the tone for our entire weekend. Even though it was raining it was very nice as the room had a good heating system and the gas fireplace made it romantic. All the lights, entertainment system - everything - is high tech, with remotes and wall mounted switches (we stayed in the Oak Room). Mark and Gail have put together a list of local eats and they have good taste and an eye for value. We ate at Zack Jacks Bistro and it was awesome. I had leg of lamb with a demi glace reduction and ragout of white beans. The meat was fork tender and the sauce to die for - I ate it all ($16.00, where do you get gourmet like that for $16.00?). They had a special going with fish and chips so my wife ordered that. It came with home made ketchup and the thickest pieces of cod I have ever seen ($14.99, she loved it). The next day we had to put a temporary halt on our vacation and run back home to take care of some business. When we returned Mark scanned and e-mailed some attachments for us from his office (they have no problems doing little things to help) to wrap up our business. They have a wood fired oven and since Mark and Gail had some long time friends up from SoCal, and a birthday, they fired it up and made gourmet pizza for all. My wife and I conversed with all and had a wonderful time. Gail is the chief cook and she has some local gals come in to help with breakfast (Mark also gets pressed into prep work sometimes). The breakfasts are great. Gail is one of those Martha Stewart types that can apparantly make just about anything (she made scones, etc.) The eggs are great as they are from a local farmer and there is a fruit bowl every morning. I liked the eggs cooked in a casserole with cheese, asparagus, and other goodies, awesome. I should not neglect to metion that as soon as you arrive she asks if you have any special dietary needs, one couple there had to have gluten free and she made them special items. Mark and Gail are very talented and obviously gregarious people who do a masterful job. This one is definitely worth a try.

Best PLace to Stay near Placerville

This was a wonderful place to stay. Gail is an excellent hostess: down to earth, accommodating, warm and welcoming. They sent great directions and suggestions of nearby places to eat and enjoy. There is obviously a lot of creativity and thought that went into designing this place--a lot of personal touches that made the Eden Vale Inn a refreshing alternative to both corporate vibes and frumpy funk.

A Most Romanic Wine Weekend

Wow what a great place - and great people - Gayle and Mark the hosts. They have it down perfect. Coffee service left at the door at 7:30 - A gourmet breakfast at 9. Then off for wine tasting with agenda and map provided by Mark. Followed by a spa treatment onsite and dinner reservations just minutes away. Wish we could live there!

Most Romantic Stay

My wife and I had the distinct pleasure of staying at Eden Vale Inn last week! It was the most romantic, rustic, and restful vacation in a long time! The Inn Keepers, Mark and Gayle, were "off the charts!" Their gift of hospitality, attention to every detail, and great knowledge of the area was an added bonus. We travel extensively and rarely find places like this! The outdoor bathtub, extensive local wine list, farm breakfast, and setting make this a MUST STAY! We will be back soon!

InnSide Tip - Winery to visit
If you stay at Eden Vale Inn, have Mark the Inn Keeper tell you about the local wines, most of which he has available for you! We enjoyed both the David Girard Grenache and also tasted and enjoyed ALL the wines at Gold Hill Winery! These wineries are only a few minutes from the Inn.

Romantic B & B in the country

We spent our anniversary weekend at this luxurious, yet cozy bed and breakfast in Placerville, CA. The Eden Vale Inn B & B fulfills everything tha you would wish for ... from the beautiful surroundings, including gardens, pond and fire pit, to our lovely room with soaking Japanese tub and romantic fireplace, to attentive, but not hovering hosts Gayle and Mark. Would highly recommend this inn for a special occasion or just a weekend getaway.

More than worth it...

Paradise

This was our first visit to Placerville, and we could not have picked a better place to stay at then Eden Vale Inn. This paradise is gorgeous! From the grounds, to the rooms, to the main areas of the inn ... it is all beautiful!! We felt genuinely welcomed by our hosts, Mark and Gayle -- they were sweet and helpful to us. Breakfast was delicious, the bed was oh-so-comfortable, sitting by the outdoor fire pit at night was lovely, and so much more. This is a pet-friendly place, and our doggie just absolutely loved it too!! We cannot wait to be back.

Eden Vale Inn, B & B

If you come upon the Eden Vale Inn through the Internet as we did, no recommendations from friends or relatives, you are in for a pleasant surprise. We spent our fifty-fifth anniversary at Eden Vale and couldn’t have chosen better. The accommodations are comfortable, the breakfasts are tasty--I give high marks to the scones--and the amenities include daily local and national newspapers, and well-chosen jazz music on the stereo. If you have a feel for history, gold was discovered here and the whole area was a center of gold mining. We highly recommend the Eden Vale Inn.

Best B & B EVER!!

We absolutely loved our stay at Edenvale B & B. Every attention to detail possible..Mark and Gayle have created the most beautiful environment..We felt so pampered... specially brewed coffee to our room, the most delicious breakfast...Our stay could not have not been better...Even our (hard to please at times) 11 year old daughter said how much she loved it too...You have set a very high standard, it will be hard for us to find other places now to compare for her (and our) experience!

PERFECTION IN PLACERVILLE

The Eden Vale Inn is one of those rare gems where you can't think of a single thing that could be improved upon. The grounds and rooms are as beautiful as the website photos. Mark and Gayle are gracious, helpful hosts, but not overly meddlesome. You can have as much privacy or socialization as you wish. We stayed with the kids in the Madrone room, the inn's largest. It was immaculate and super-comfortable. We all loved the private Japanese soaking tub and apperciated the giant, thick towels they provide. Breakfast is to die for, and fresh produce from the garen is often incorporated into the meal. Coffee in a silver pot is quitely left on your doorstep every morning (and hot chocolate for the kids). Eden Vale is definitely kid-friendly, but thankfully does not go overboard catering to children. (No happy-face pancakes and water fights in the pond!) It was fun taking the row boat for a spin, and humbling to discover how "rowing-challenged" I am. They set out the fixin's for s'mores every night, and it's great how everyone just kind of gravitates to the fire pit in the evening, sharing wine and life stories. I had my perfect "Sunset Magazine moment," enjoying a picnic overlooking the pond at the inn. The Eden Vale is the perfect getaway if you're in the area for river rafting, wine tasting, or just want a luxurious, romantic weekend. We will definitely be back!
