Description

Circa 1884. The village of Deerfield was settled in 1670. Farmers in the area still unearth bones and ax and arrow heads from French/Indian massacre of 1704. Now, 50 beautifully restored 18th- and 19th-century homes line the mile-long main street, considered by many to be the loveliest street in New England. Fourteen of these houses are museums of Pioneer Valley decorative arts and are open year-round to the public. The Memorial Hall Museum, open from May to November, is the oldest museum in New England and full of local antiquities. The inn is situated at the center of this peaceful village, and for those who wish to truly experience New England's past, this is the place. The village has been designated a National Historic Landmark.

Loved this Inn

This historic inn is very comfortable with many amenities and very friendly accommodating owners and staff. It was decorated for Christmas and a fire was going in the fireplace. There were cookies and tea in the parlor and we felt very cared for here. In addition, Deerfield is a wonderful historic town with easy access to Greenfield and Northampton. Can't wait to return.

The Best!

We needed a place to stay overnight. We called Deerfield Inn at around 8:00pm on a Sunday evening, asking if anything was available and the receptionist was very helpful, not a bit upset with a last minute call. Very pleased when we arrived it was the best.

The best

We've stayed at many New England inns, but the Deerfield Inn ranks among the best.
