I had the absolute pleasure of staying at the Garden Cottage Bed and Breakfast in Cedar City, Utah for four delightful days and nights. I have stayed here regularly on my visits to beautiful Southern Utah due largely to the Inn Keepers Diana and Gary Simkins. They are so welcoming and friendly; it’s like coming home when I arrive. The Victorian Cottage is utterly charming inside and out. The gardens are magnificent, brimming with fragrant roses, towering hollyhocks, and delicate Queen Anne’s lace. Inside this storybook cottage are five breathtaking chambers. I stayed in the sunny Morning Glory room. This room has its own private entrance and a glorious view of the gardens. The décor and detail in the furnishings of this room are delightful, each piece has a story to tell and Diana is happy to share the histories behind the wonderful antiques. The antique bed is heavenly! The linens are crisp and clean and the modern queen size pillow-top mattress made for a remarkable nights sleep. The only thing that got me out of my delightful room was the knowledge of an amazing breakfast. Diana and Gary offer a FULL breakfast; leave your “continental” appetites behind. I savored the yummy fruit dish, the fluffy pastry and the flavorful quiche, all served on fine china. Absolutely Delicious! I will stay nowhere else when enjoying Southern Utah… I have found the absolute best home away from home.
