Circa 1872. There are 17 holly trees surround this aptly named bed & breakfast, built by Robert C. Hill, the co-founder of the First National Bank of Port Townsend. The cozy, romantic rooms are decorated with florals and lace. Billie's Room affords a view of Admiralty Inlet and Mt. Baker, while Lizette's Room offers Victorian decor and a view of the garden. The Skyview Room includes a wonderful skylight. The spacious Colonel's Room features a picture window with water and mountain views, and the Morning Glory Room is a cozy retreat with lace-trimmed quilts. Expansive breakfasts are served in the dining room, and coffee and tea are always available. The inn's gardens are surrounded by a picket fence and nearly 90 rose bushes.

Historic Interest

The Holly Hill House is one of the few Victorian houses in the Pacific Northwest that displays original "faux bois" which is a stippling done to the wood. It has original fireplaces with marble surrounds and Italian brass inserts. Many of the light fixtures are original and have been converted from oil to gas to electric. The house was built in 1872 and still has a majority of its original architecture.

THIS is the reason we love to stay at B&B's! Simply put, our stay with Nina and Greg was everything you hope for in a B&B experience, but rarely get. We stayed for 4 glorious days, and were treated as long-lost relatives(and we're not even from the South, Greg!) Our hosts managed to nail the sweet spot between attentiveness and warmth, and privacy and peace. We just felt at home, (if our home was a wonderfully restored, historically significant seaside manor house). Oh, and if you want to experience breakfast at it's absolute best- Nina is your woman. I still awake every morning dreaming of her peach "tudding" and the unmatched "crusted french toast"! And finally,my review would not be complete without mentioning the HOMEMADE MARSHMELLOWS!!! My life will be incomplete, till I return, and have another one.

Our fourth annual trip. Can't wait until next year the same time. The InnKeepers add all the extra special touches. They treat us like family. The gardens are full of birds and peaceful times. Nina Cooks up special treats which we can never stop eating. Her table is beautiful. The bed are like sinking into a feather and floating on clouds. We love you Nina and Greg. This time I laughed so hard my jaws still heart. Thanks for so many happy times. Dorothy Russell
