The Maine coast at its best!

Higgins Beach Inn

Our family booked a multi-night stay in early June at the Higgins Beach Inn. Our two connecting rooms, with a bathroom, were a welcome sight upon our arrival. Simple, tasteful decor, sinks in the rooms, and comfortable beds - and exceptionally clean. A thoughtful touch was the filmed glass on the full size window in the bathroom, allowing both privacy and natural light. The inn is two blocks from one of the best beaches in Maine - free parking is included in your stay - and the walk there is through two blocks of a classic Maine beach town, full of flowers and smiling, friendly people - it's magic. The owners, Bob and Diane, were full of information and nearly as friendly as Cash, their golden retriever, who greeted us like old friends each time we returned to the inn. I'm already looking forward to returning next year; I'm smiling now just thinking about it. P.S. - My husband told me I just had to mention the flawless wireless internet connection; he was very impressed.

I stayed at this Inn recently during a weekend househunting trip. It is truly a beautiful place, like a B&B with a marvelous restaurant and a lounge inside. The owners and staff are warm and welcoming, and so is their Golden, Cash. The Inn is charming and in a beautiful location. You must try the restaurant, Garofolo's, it is fabulous. Wonderful!

It is lovely for an Inn, but does not replace a hotel. The staff seemed irritated if you asked them a question. Almost as if we bothered them, maybe we did? It is very clean. No elevators, no air conditioners and shared bathrooms. They've done a nice job with the place, but it wasn't what we were hoping for

very friendly, accomodating staff. sweet place. strictly a vacation inn, not business friendly....only one outlet in room (without a 3 prong plug). also be wary of the thin walls. lots of door banging. as we speak i can hear the couple next to me playing cards and talking about their day, let alone the snoring at night!!! the location and staff definately make the place!

My husband, daughter and I have returned to HBI for the last several years. We love the location just near the spectacular Higgins Beach; the rooms are cozy, clean and comfortable and the food at Garofalo's is superb--from the blueberry pancakes at breakfast to the Seafood pasta aglio olio for dinner. The front porch is a great spot for a cocktail or to curl up with a good book on a rainy afternoon. Truly a magical spot to share!
