Located in the heart of downtown New Bern, North Carolina, this carefully restored late Victorian home reflects its former grandeur. The upstairs hall guest refrigerator is stocked with bottled water. Second-floor guest rooms include oriental carpets and period antiques and some boast bubbler spa tubs and separate showers. The German Mill room has a balcony overlooking the passing parade and a sitting area in addition to the artisan-made wrought iron bed. Breakfast is served at a pre-selected time and includes a wide selection of traditional and creative entrees, such as shrimp and grits or stuffed French toast. Indulge in an afternoon sip of sherry or a glass of wine served in the front parlor. Enjoy the quiet ambiance of a bygone era that enhances relaxation.

Finest food, beautifully appointed

I travel extensively - domestically and overseas, and I enjoy a fine B&B over a hotel. Simply put, this is the finest I have ever stayed in, here or abroad. Why? The owners make breakfast per individual - not a buffet or typical "bread/meat" or "bacon and eggs". I recommend you get whatever they suggest, but the Charleston cheese, scones, shrimp and grits, stuffed french toast... they are all incredible. My wife loved the baked pear with pistachio. The rooms are all beautifully appointed in period furnishings (we got a tour!) if you are within 100 miles of here, make the trip and spend the night. Walk the waterfront, visit Tryon palace and spend another night. Get a different breakfast each day until you forget what continental and euro standard fare was! The owners are Joe and Camille Klotz (and their dog Katie!) My highest recommendation. Thank you Joe and Camille!

This is one of the best inns I've ever stayed in. The food is great, the owners (Joe) (Camille) are extremely nice, and you'll feel at home really quick. You wont want to leave. =]
