My sister and I stayed at this B&B last night as it was a good stopping point between Colorado Springs and Las Vegas. We called ahead to let the owner know that we would be arriving around 10pm or a little later. He waited up for us, helped us over the phone to find it because we hadn't driven far enough on 89,(There is a 100 South in the town before Gunnison, so don't let that confuse you.), helped us park (since we were towing a trailer)(I was also impressed to park so close to the building), offered us some chocolate chip cookies, and carried a bag up to the Autumn Room where we stayed. It was very cozy. We were able to watch a movie (they have vhs and dvd players connected to a small tv which also had cable), use the wireless internet on our laptops, plug multiple items into their outlets, and have a great night's sleep. Some might say that it was tight, but we really liked it. It reminded us of our mother's room only with the bathroom attached. Just be careful if you are tall and choose to use the ceiling fan because the ceiling is low. The breakfast in the morning was excellent. We were greeted by the owners and other guests in the dining area. They had light music in the background but also a tv. They had several choices to eat/drink including scrambled eggs (my favorite item),hard-boiled eggs, bacon, pancakes, various pound cake slices, strawberries, pinapple, blueberries, oatmeal and possibly more that I didn't see. They had orange juice, apple juice, cranberry juice and milk as well as various teas and coffee. I was so happy that they had different flavored syrups for the coffee as well as for the pancakes. They also had real mugs and to-go coffee cups. I didn't see any water, but they did have two water bottles in our room. We took a walk, jog and bike around the neighborhood and found it to be very pleasant. The neighbors were very nice and chatted with us, even letting us pet their dogs. :) The shower was excellent and had places to put your own items. It had several jet settings which I appreciated. The sink was in the main room which was great so that each of us could be getting ready without worring about the mirror fogging. Check out was at 11am and the owner even drove his car around to give us a jump after my sister had run down the battery listening to music without the engine running while she was waiting for me. This was by far one of the most positive "hotel" experiences that I have ever had. It was both of our first time's staying at a B&B and was worth driving the few extra miles to get to it off of I-70. Both of the owners were extremely kind and helpful and made sure that everything was to our liking throughout our entire stay. It actually inspired us to hint to our mom and aunt to go into business together to run a b&b. We'll see! :)
