A Gem of an Inn

My husband and I went to Elsah just for a little quiet rest and relaxation. The Greentree Inn in Elsah was perfect. First, Connie was a delightful and warm hostess. She asked what time we preferred breakfast, and if we had any dietary requirements. She also let us arrange our plans around my physical capabilities, and made wonderful suggestions. The ride on the free ferry and drive through the country were delightful. Her breakfasts were delicious, coffee was always available to us, and the afternoon snacks she put out every day were pure pleasure. She actually saved us some money on meals because we enjoyed the double chocolate chip cookies and the cherry cobbler so much. Her dinner suggestions were also quite helpful, and there were sample menus for us to check out. The town is also delightful to take strolls in. I felt like I'd been transported back in time to the mid 1800s due to the architecture and a visit to the old General Store. Connie's husband, Gary also made a visit to the museum (behind the B&B) entertaining. Go and enjoy yourselves. I promise you'll want to go back.
