True Southern Romance!

The Manor and the hosts are simply lovely. A warm welcome by the proprietor and the property. It is a beautiful Southern Plantation and everything you need is close-by. There is a wonderful library filled with books and magazines that are all for the guest's use and enjoyment, along with an antique piano that we played. A nice parlor is also available for the guest's use. The owners live on the third floor, so the first and second floors and verandas are all common guest areas and guest rooms. The location is great, close by lots of shops and restaurants. Not close enough to walk, but only a couple of miles away. The manor is also within 3 miles of two great golf courses. My husband played golf and I read on the veranda one day, the next day we went antiquing in Rosenberg and had lunch at a wonderful old-fashioned soda fountain the hosts had recommended for their yummy homemade milkshakes and banana splits. Wonderful! I took a leisurely walk through the neighborhood and sat awhile under the majestic pecan trees on the banks of a nearby bayou. The accomodations exceeded expectations. We stayed in the newly re-decorated Shady Lady room and it was a hoot! Old west Texas bordello style with a jacuzzi for two in the corner. You are located on a quiet street and can get a good night's rest, then you are greeted in the morning by fresh coffee, juices, fantastic entrees and homemade goodies! We can't wait to come back!

We had a wonderful time at Great Oaks Manor for our romantic getaway. Our romance package was waiting for us in our room at check-in & everything was perfect! The innkeepers attended to every detail of our stay, but were not intrusive at all. Our room was large, quiet, beautifully decorated, and very comfortable. Breakfast was a treat with fresh fruit, delicious scones, and fresh ground & brewed coffee. We had plenty of places to hang out by ourselves since there are several common areas and large verandahs and we even had a table at breakfast just for us. Much love has gone into this bed and breakfast and it's perfect to visit with a loved one for romance!

My husband and I stayed here on our Honeymoon last week. We only had 2 days, and just wanted to relax before going back to the real world. The Innkeeper was the best, the breakfast was to die for. We definitey enjoyed the fireplace in our room and enjoyed mingling with other guests while staying there. Everyone left us alone when we wanted to be and they even have tables for two at breakfast! The rooms are unique, clean, and are so quiet and private! The inn keeper greeted us at the door and made sure we knew where everything was located. The amenities in the rooms like the robes and fresh flowers are amazing and even the toiletries are a luxury. We will definitely return.
