Fantastic! I arrived late in the evening and stressed from a travel day at work and Rick and Carol's wonderful attitude and comfortable accomodation melted all stress in no time. I left feeling happy and refreshed. Will definitely be back.

This is a one of a kind, there a true sense of a welcoming "close family"warmth, comfort and spirit "like you were somehow meant to be here". The place is immaculately maintained and every inch is clean and truly charming. There is a glass of wine, a bowl of peanut M & M's (my weakness) a friendly genuine smile from owner's /caretakers, Rick and Carol. We sat and had a lovely time visiting with them before retiring to our lovely period piece well sized very comfy bedroom and large 1930's style bathroom. Just an unforgettable stay, brilliant. We will be back for years to come and will suggest it to all of our dear friends and family. I was almost hesitant to write this due to selfish motives to "keep it to myself" but in these times, Places like these need to be shared, supported and experienced.....In love.. When my 17 year old daughter wanted to look at the university in Chico, California, I was at a loss where to stay, and we ended up in a horrible motel, which tainted our visit to Chico State, even though we had a great tour and she loved the campus. After looking at other schools, I insisted on another visit, and this time I discovered The Grateful Bed. We instantly fell in love with the gorgeous Victorian home and their lovely grounds, the proximity to the campus was walking distance for us, but mostly it was the innkeepers, Carol & Rick that turned everything around. They knew the schedules for each activity, and ultimately the graduation dates, etc. My daughter told me that she immediately wanted to call them Aunt & Uncle, and I understood her feelings. I have never, and I mean never, had a better breakfast served so beautifully anywhere, anytime. We have continually visited their inn, and our entire family have stayed in every room. Ashley is now 24, and she has a BA with a dual teaching credential, which is only obtainable at Chico State, and we are still pinching ourselves how lucky we have been.
