Gracious Innkeeper Kathy welcomes you to her elegant, spacious, comfortable, private home. Spectacular mountain views change throughout the day and evening, each breathtaking. Pull yourself away from the delectable breakfast and you are minutes away from quiet walks, hikes along a river or to a mountain top, waterfalls, biking and scenic drives in Great Smoky Mountain National Park. Our walk along Middleprong Trail was enhanced with clouds of Monarch butterflies. Kathy takes pleasure in assuring your visit is complete in every way and can direct you to local restaurants. We ate at Foothills Milling Company, especially enjoying their signature dishes of Fried Green Tomatoes and Vidalia Onion Goat Cheese Tart. Gracehill breakfasts begin with a new heirloom setting each morning and continue with memorable delights from Kathy's kitchen. A quiet read on one of the enormous covered decks, sunset or moonrise from the hot tub, a stroll through Gracehill's multi-level gardens, tea or a glass of wine on the patio, a sweet sleep in a comfy bed in a beautiful room with the sound of a waterfall and soft dreams of returning -that's the Gracehill experience. Kathy puts the "grace" in Gracehill!
Innside Tip:
"Synchronous Fireflies"
Travel to Gracehill during mid-June and you will have a chance to see the world-class phenomenon only available here and in Asia: synchronous fireflies. Gather at Elkmont Camping ground in the early evening and wait until 9:30 p.m. when the fireflies come out. Their patterns of firing simultaneously, often in waves, are a memorable and amazing sight.
