“31 years of marriage & 100s of B&B”
Page GEuless, TX
After hundreds of B&B experiences, we have truly found a must stay experience. Gracehill has everything to offer for all ages of visitors. The rooms had outstanding amenities, comforts, and privacy. The panoramic views of the Smoky Mountains were inspiring and breathe taking especially at sunset. Our host and inn keeper/owner, Kathy was a delight. She was extremely helpful in our getting the most out of our trips with daily-planed outings including time & mileage, reservations at several quality restaurants that rivaled LA, Dallas, or NY, and most importantly things and places not to waist our time or spend money on. She hand-prepared customized breakfasts and was careful to take into consideration dietary or cultural needs of each of her guest. We spent the entire week being completely pampered and at the end of our stay had made a friend, found a home to go back to on future visits, and found we had made the most of our time and money while there. Centrally located in the Smoky Mountains, setting on top of a mountain, this beautifully decorated and landscaped B&B, with a gracious host begs the question; why would you want to stay anywhere else when visiting the great Smoky Mountain National Park.

Words cannot adequately describe the beauty and romance of Gracehill Bed and Breakfast in Townsend, Tennessee. The mountaintop setting is unbelieveable!! From the minute you enter this lovely B &B, your every need is met. Each room is beautifully appointed and so luxurious!! Owner-innkeeper Kathleen Janke is a gracious hostess and provides for your every need. Her gourmet breakfasts are fabulous! She is creative in her presentation and each meal is a culinary adventure. The view from the veranda will have you transfixed and you will never want to leave. We highly recommend a stay at this magnficent hideaway in the Smokey Mountains.

Easy to say that Gracehill is like heaven on earth. Wonderful establishment at great location with a superb view. Kathy prepares an outstanding breakfast which is complimented by the mountain view as shown on her website. I've referred several couples, all agree. This is THE place for a peaceful, romantic get away...

“Romantic and Spellbinding”
Beth M8/16/2010
Being one of our favorites in the Smokey Mountains area, Gracehill does not disappoint. Your idea of a romantic getaway may be cuddling with your special someone in front of your private gas fireplace, enjoying romantic music or a romantic movie from Kathy's vast collection. Or, you could be like us, quietly enjoying the company of your spouse while sitting on the veranda, sipping a drink and snacking on candy, mermerized by the sunset's romantic hues in the western sky. And how can we forget that special delight of having a wonderful morning feast prepared and served to us on the veranda? Never!

“Gracehill - romance defined”
Bob S8/16/2010
Secluded-located at the highest point in the county some 1,000 feet up from the driveway entrance. Only accommodates three guest rooms at a time.
Rooms-all designed out of a romance novel.
Breakfast-served outside on a deck that overlooks nothing but breath-taking scenery. A three course meal designed to your specific specifications and made from the finest fresh produce and fruit.
Location-close enough to all of the Smokey Mountain park activities but far enough away to avoid ALL of the business and crowds.
Suggested ages for a romantic adventure-all those who are breathing.

“Romantic”
Patti RLouisville, KY
8/16/2010
Every life has one true love snapshot, when one's life transforms from a simple black and white snapshot, to a most magnificently colored rainbow of colors exuding a promise of romance and happiness at its purest. It is this very feeling that will overwhelm one while perusing the endless views of the natural beauty, innocence, and elegance of Gracehill, situated high above the Smokies.
It will matter not whether it is a 360 degree view of a cloudless, sunny day, or a windy, misty rainfall, the ambiance will draw you in likes moths to a flame, and leave you with a calming sense of tranquility never known before.
At Gracehill couples experience romance and happiness on a daily basis, and will fall in love many times over and over again between check in and check out. That renewed sense of romance, love, and commitment will keep you smiling whether you are in the giddy throes of a new and fresh relationship, or have been enveloped in one that has steadfastly stood the test of time.
Upon departure from the romance of Gracehill, you will look at one another with renewed vision, while being reminded of the love that brought you together and which will entwine your lives forever.

One of the most beautiful places to see the western sky go to bed. Atop one of tallest peaks around and a view of the quiet valley below this place was made for sunsets. “Exquisitely Romantic Gracehill”
Lisa PKnoxville, TN
8/15/2010
Gracehill is by far the most spectacular and romantic B&B my husband and I have ever stayed in with it’s glorious mountain view from the porch decks that makes you feel like you’re seeing the world from a cloud’s point of view, and the waterfall and rose garden areas that offer Secret Garden privacy and mystique.
And then you go inside…! As an artist who has painted in many of the finest homes in our city, sadly, I have become increasingly hard to impress when it comes to decorating, but when I took a tour of Gracehill, I gasped in every room. There is nothing I would change or add, there are decorative “surprises” everywhere, and I love the fact that every room is so vastly different from the others, giving you a different experience each time you come back if you choose a different room each time. When I looked on line for equal beauty in decorating, the prices are four or more times as expensive as the most beautiful Gracehill.
The room we chose was the “Spellbound” which is grand but soothing, and is off to the side where it opens up to the most private area of the deck. Right below is a waterfall that lulled my husband and me off to sleep with cool mountain breezes coming through the screen door. The bed was so comfortable that I called the Innkeeper later to ask where she bought both the pillows and mattress. I sunk into them like Scarlet O’Hara.
One of our favorite surprises was breakfast. Against the backdrop of the beautiful mountains beyond the deck, the porch table was set in a way that made us feel special, even royal: the linens, the fresh flowers, the beautiful china, all insisted we stop for a moment to take it all in. The food came in courses which created anticipation. Every dish that was brought out was unique and interesting, and all of it was extremely delicious.
The true prize of Gracehill is Kathy, the Innkeeper. She has paid great attention to the details of comfort, style and love of life, and possesses a true, very natural Gift of Hospitality. As soon as we arrived she made us feel like family members, informing us of all the places that were good to dine or visit, at night she disappeared and we felt like we had the house to ourselves, and at the morning breakfast, she brought all the guests together in conversation that magically transformed strangers into good friends within a very short amount of time. In between she intrigued us with her own conversations of wild boars that used to live near the property, and of her fascinating life stories and world travels that inspired me to do more with my own life. Proficient in art, photography, interior design, gardening, cooking, computer, business, travel, and conversation, she accomplishes so much, but never seems to be in a hurry. It seems she has mastered the Art of Relaxation and shares it with others, and we are honored and grateful for the experience.

“Romantic get away in TN!”
Julia NWauseon, OH
8/15/2010
Gracehill is the most secluded B&B we have ever visited. This makes it perfect for a great romantic getaway. My husband and I have been lucky enough to have visited many times. Always something special waiting for us. The view is spectacular, the rooms beautiful and comfortable, grand porch for a quiet afternoon, and then there is the breakfast - beyond any expectations! REALLY! Certainly one of our favorite spots to get away together. Oh yea, and then there is the fact that it is located in the Smokey Mountains. Perfect in every respect!

“Mountaintop Experience!”
Mary D8/15/2010
Our stay at Gracehill was memorable for many reasons, but one in particular was its situation at the top of a mountain, and commanded incredible views! A glass of wine, a chair on the porch to view the sunsets, what a romantic experience! The usual B & B fare, breakfast, was exceptional! Kathy is so eager to assist in any plans for the area. All in all, a mountaintop experience!

Anita Dlouisville, KY

My best friend and I decided on a quick hiking trip to the Smokies. After some internet research I settled on Gracehill. I've stayed at several b and b's across the country- Gracehill is definitely one of the best in the business. The views, the attention to detail and the hospitality were outstanding. The owner/innkeeper Kathy has created a wonderful place to relax and take in the wonder of the mountains. I can't imagine staying anywhere else in the area after experiencing Gracehill. Kudos to Kathy!!!

“Elegant, comfy, romantic, superb.”
Ginger LClyde, NC
6/16/2009
Gracious Innkeeper Kathy welcomes you to her elegant, spacious, comfortable, private home. Spectacular mountain views change throughout the day and evening, each breathtaking. Pull yourself away from the delectable breakfast and you are minutes away from quiet walks, hikes along a river or to a mountain top, waterfalls, biking and scenic drives in Great Smoky Mountain National Park. Our walk along Middleprong Trail was enhanced with clouds of Monarch butterflies. Kathy takes pleasure in assuring your visit is complete in every way and can direct you to local restaurants. We ate at Foothills Milling Company, especially enjoying their signature dishes of Fried Green Tomatoes and Vidalia Onion Goat Cheese Tart. Gracehill breakfasts begin with a new heirloom setting each morning and continue with memorable delights from Kathy's kitchen. A quiet read on one of the enormous covered decks, sunset or moonrise from the hot tub, a stroll through Gracehill's multi-level gardens, tea or a glass of wine on the patio, a sweet sleep in a comfy bed in a beautiful room with the sound of a waterfall and soft dreams of returning -that's the Gracehill experience. Kathy puts the "grace" in Gracehill!

InnSide Tip - Synchronous Fireflies
Travel to Gracehill during mid-June and you will have a chance to see the world-class phenomenon only available here and in Asia: synchronous fireflies. Gather at Elkmont Camping ground in the early evening and wait until 9:30 p.m. when the fireflies come out. Their patterns of firing simultaneously, often in waves, are a memorable and amazing sight.
