“Fantastic Stay!”
Darci PMy wife and I enjoyed a very nice and relaxing time away from the kids! We had one of the cabins and enjoyed the modern amenities as well as the fantastic breakfast and dinners. We can't wait to go back and I highly recommend for anyone looking for a nice getaway and friendly hospitality.

“Lovely time!”
Bella PrassHolmen, WI
Just stayed at the Mansion with my family and we had a great time!
Felt like a visiting an aunt and uncle, the innkeepers do a great job of making you feel welcome! Julie's kitchen is always open and she loves having guests cook with her.
Beautifully kept historical property.

This was surprise birthday present from my husband. the cottages are beautiful and relaxing. Julie cooked some very special meals!
We walked the trails through their property and met up with their llamas. Both are expecting this spring!
We already went back for a second visit and are planning our next. Cannot recommend this place enough!!!

“Rude and Unprofessional”
Rachel P1/15/2010
I strongly advise against planning a wedding at Garth Woodside Mansion. Julie the owner treated me as if I were trying to make simple dinner reservations instead of planning a wedding. She accused me of asking too many questions and said that she would prefer that I plan my wedding elsewhere. This was said after I had scheduled an appointment with her to sit down and sign a contract with the deposit. It would be natural to have many questions anyway (Room accommodations, out of town guests, the reception and costs etc) but I was forced to ask more because setting up a time to meet in person, or have Julie send pictures of bouquets and cakes was like pulling teeth. “Wedding consultation” services are included in each wedding package but Julie the owner should realize that some of this process begins even before a contract is signed. I’m assuming because I had a small wedding planned (20 People) that I was not worth the hassle even though I made it very clear I was serious about moving forward. Julie should stick to running an Inn and hire a professional to handle the wedding planning. Perhaps someone that does not clearly get exasperated with normal wedding planning questions.
Another Note: Beware of extra fees. ie if you prefer to use your own photographer there is a $300.00 fee.

“Outstanding On So Many Levels!”
Jamie7/10/2009
My wife and I made a special trip to Hannibal just to stay at this property. The mansion is incredible. There is so much history and majesty, not to mention how well kept it is. We stayed in one of the cottages called The Dowager House. What a place!! Kitchen, 2 fireplaces, huge master bedroom, loft, deck with a hot tub, whirlpool, incredible walk-in shower, all the first class ammenities you can think of. We had dinner and breakfast brought to us and the food was incredible!! My wife and I had a magically romantic stay and this perfect B&B!!
