The Rankin Room
Named in honor of Montana's beloved and renouned stateswoman, Janette Rankin, this ornate room truely captures the spirit of Helena's turn-of-the century elite. Once owned by Janettes brother, Wellington Rankin, Janette was a frequent guest in the home. Although the room has since been ornately refurbished, the room and most especially the large, private bathroom are much as they were during Janette's visits. The morning light as it filters through the pink toned drapes is spectacular, perhaps it was this light that most captivated Janette. Certainly the claw-foot tub (and sensational shower) - another original), were a welcome retreat for this tireless crusader. The large private bath is located immediately to the right of the bedroom. However, contrary to our other guestrooms on the first and second floor, you must exit your room to enter this private bath. It is only a couple of steps and robes are provided.
