Camden Maine Stay Inn Gallery
In 1802 Alden Bass built this house at 22 High Street. Those were the times when Thomas Jefferson was President of the United States, Route 1 was a dirt road and Maine was still a part of the state of Massachusetts. Consisting of a striking main house with an attached carriage house and four-story barn, the Inn is an outstanding example of the progressive farm buildings common to 19th century Maine. Lovingly maintained, today it stands regally in Camden's Historic District, the essence of early New England
