Once inside the private hedge with iron gate, a relaxing journey unfolds. The parlor is perfect for learning about the area from hostess Heather. A deliciously prepared breakfast is highlighted with elegant table settings of Blue Willow china and vintage silver. The balconies or lawn chairs offer a restful view of the manicured grounds and flower beds.

Graciousness and beauty

Our Gable House stay was outstanding from beginning to end. The house itself is a treasure, architecturally and in overall ambiance. Heather, our hostess, is gracious, warm and welcoming. Breakfasts are great! We enjoyed the garden, the balcony and the comfort of being in a welcoming home.

Hidden Jewel

Gable House is literally the hidden jewel of Durango. It is a large home, yet at the same time a small, elegant and very well-run B&B. My wife and I have stayed in many B&B's and this is the best one we have found.

Feel like a Queen

I felt like a Queen in the Queen Anne Victorian Gable House in Durango, Colorado. From the time Ms. Heather opened her door, I felt welcome. She escorted us through her elegant home and I felt "at home". I especially enjoyed relaxing on one of her balconies overlooking this historic and quiet neighborhood. The southwestern breakfast was delicious. Heather was very helpful in telling us the history of her house, and all the interesting things in and around Durago we might like to see while we were in Durango. I have stayed at many B&Bs all over the world, and I would sincerely say that this is the best "home away from home" I've ever experienced.

Stayed here in April 2009 and found Gable House a wonderful place to stay and Heather a wonderful hostess and a wealth of information on what to see and where to go in the Durango area. I felt like family.
