Country Inn

The Union Lumber Company once owned this two-story townhouse built of native redwood. It features rooms with slanted and peaked ceilings, and several rooms have fireplaces. Camellia trees, flower boxes, and a picket fence accent the landscaping, while two blocks away a railroad carries visitors on excursions through the redwoods.

Glass Beach B&B

Each of the guest rooms at this Craftsman-style home is decorated in a different theme and named to reflect the decor. The Malaysian and Oriental Jade rooms reflect Asian artistry, while the Forget-Me-Not and Victorian Rose rooms are bright, feminine rooms with walls decked in floral prints. Antiques are found throughout the home and the back cottage, which includes three of the inn's nine guest rooms. The inn also offers a hot tub for guest use. Breakfasts are served in the inn's dining room, but guests are free to take a tray and enjoy the meal in the privacy of their own room.

The Weller House Inn

In the National Register, this three-story Italianate Victorian offers dormers, bay windows, a porch and an unusual historic water tower. Breakfast is provided in the redwood paneled ballroom on the top floor and includes baked goods, asparagus quiche or a variety of other dishes created by your Swedish hostess. Guest rooms are decorated in the theme of a different country and include some furnishings original to the house as well as hand-painted tiles, fireplaces and stained glass. From the water tower, guests enjoy expansive ocean views and often spot whales. The innkeepers are musicians, Ted plays the trombone and Eva plays the bassoon. Ask for directions to MacKerricher State Park, which juts into the ocean and allows close up views of harbor seals or the locals' favorite, Glass Beach.
