Littletons Bed & Breakfast

Description
The Littleton T. Clarke House, circa 1860, was entered into the National Register of Historic Places on May 2, 1996 and has undergone a careful restoration and transformation since 1992. It is also known as the Capt. Jeremiah Speights house, and is a prominent example of the Second Empire style and one of the best executed and preserved dwellings in Worcester County Maryland. It stands out as a rare architectural antebellum survivor of several destructive nineteenth and twentieth century fires that have occurred in the confines of Pocomoke City. (For additional architectural information, refer to the book entitled: "Along the Seaboard Side" by Paul Baker Touart.) The restoration process also provides for a tastefully executed sprinkler system throughout the entire structure as an added means to insure its preservation for future generations. Reason for selling
After 17 years of operating the B&B, the inn-keepers husband has growing responsibility for the care and assistance of elderly parents residing out-of-state and thus affects our ability to properly run the inn on a steady basis.
